Merry And Brite

Have you ever been inspired to create a project based on a favorite song?

Today’s card, Merry and Brite, is the second Doodlebug Christmas card I created from my Little Bag of Scraps. The title is derived from the lyrics of the best-selling single of all times – White Christmas. I decided to research the song’s history and found it fascinating – if you like, you can read more about it here

The song has taken on new meaning for me over the past decade as I now live in a temperate year-round climate, and often find myself reminiscing of the traditional White Christmases I experienced as a child. So, I thought I’d close today’s post with the lyrics to this wonderful song – and the heartfelt sentiments that go with it!

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
