WOYWW 8, Cat Chat, Exciting News

This week, my attention (and workspace) shifted from The Paper Palace to my husband’s office. We are currently on a mission to reorganize all of the bookshelves in our home so that we can free up as much bookshelf space as possible in The Paper Palace for art and crafting supplies. (Oooh! Do you hear makeover in the future?)

As you can see, it does not take long to fill an empty space in our home – the kitties are having a blast testing out each shelf as it briefly becomes available for “play”! I wish we had the luxury of leaving a few of the shelves empty for their ongoing delight – but alas, we’re not currently in that place!

I’ve been waiting for a chance to share some really big news. A few weeks back, the editor of Vamp Stamp News contacted me and asked for permission to publish my Paper Organization Tips in their March 2010 issue, which is now available for purchase on their website. How exciting is that? The cool thing was that the inquiry came totally out of the blue – she saw my tips posted on a group board and contacted me shortly thereafter. So, be careful what you write on those groups, gals – you never know who’s reading those posts!

Now, are you hungering to see some real crafty workspaces? Then, after you leave me a comment so I know you stopped by, hop on over to the Queen of WOYWW’s headquarters, say hello to Julia and the gals, and browse to your heart’s content!

Great pictures your highness, Iknow what you mean..every time I open a cupboard, there's a stack of books. But they're my friends and I MIGHT re-read them!!

    Dear Ladybug & Wipso,

Tsunami (the true Highness in the household) thanks you for visiting & paying him his due homage! (Seriously, he believes he is royalty – his very first nickname upon arrival a few years back was "The Little Prince"!)

Tsunami and Legend (whose shelf-shot got short-changed due to over-worked camera batteries) are both Maine Coon Cats, a large, working breed native to the US. They are an AWESOME breed aptly nicknamed "gentle giants" – I have had the pleasure of sharing my home with them for close to 26 years now (hmmm – guess that makes me – 30?) – since the first day a Maine walked into my home I have been smitten with this breed and can't imagine life without one. One of these days I will write some posts about this amazing breed since I get a lot of inquiries about them in my e-mail.

Tsunami is slightly older than Legend – they are about 5 1/2 weeks apart I believe – from different litters (which is why they have differences in their coats and body types, even though they are both the same breed). The breed is a slow maturing one – they aren't considered full grown until about 4 years or so. Both of these boys will turn 3 this year. We just weighed them last week. Tsunami weighed in at 22 pounds and Legend weighed in at 18 pounds, to give you an idea of just how large my "babies" are!

Anyway, for those of you who are tuning in and want to see more pics of my boys, just go to Hot Topics and search under Cat Chat – I've done my best to label them – or, search under the WOYWW pics, there is usually a cat around when I am in crafting!

    Thanks Linda,

I was SO excited the day I got her e-mail – TOTALLY out of the blue, TOTALLY unexpected! I have not seen what got printed – I have to order a copy of the issue and just haven't had a chance to do so yet – but, it was a really wonderful surprise!

    🙂

    Hi Julia,

I too consider every book I've ever purchased a true blue friend and, without intervention, would still own just about every one of them to this day! Unfortuntately, circumstances (and my husband!) have forced me to cut back on certain things and, considering that there are items that, if honest with myself, I have definitely outgrown at this point in my life, it probably isn't all bad to do some housecleaning now and then (ack! did I just say that! shhh…don't whisper that to another soul – that will stay just between the two of us!)

Anyway, I am looking forward to digging out some treasures when I get around to my shelves and sharing them with you gals. I even made a space in my Links section to post some faves – just haven't gotten around to doing so yet. Those books have to earn their spot over there you know – so I'll be reviewing them before I list them! So many ideas and aspirations, so little time and energy…

Gorgeous cats (and I – sorry – don't really like cats!) well done on being published. I have books everywhere, more books than stamps and THAT'S saying something.

Those kitty's get everywhere don't they?! Well done you on being published, that's great news.

  11. Penni says:

Your kitties do look beautiful on those shelves. My Bengals are just as bad, see a space and they have to try it out for size and if they see a box … well!!!!!

Thomas especially likes being high up and his current favourite space is on top of my kitchen cupboards looking down on us all!!!

Give your kitties a big hug from me.
