Happy Earth Day everyone! When I think about Earth Day and paper crafting, I recognize the importance of breathing new life into the materials we already have on hand, so today I thought I’d share a few ways I’ve done that in my own creative life!
I created Love Letter for a color-themed swap using scraps and a few found objects. The inspiration came from the envelope-shaped scrap of vellum in the center of the ATC. The stamp came off of an envelope I received in the mail the same day I made the card! I stamped the images in CTMH Black Dye Ink using CTMH’s Air Mail Stamp Set (C1192) and distressed the ATC using both Stampin Up’s Pumpkin Pie Pigment Ink and Tim Holtz’s Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.
Now, do you remember the Kindred Spirits challenge I issued on April 15, 2010? I offered goodies to a Kindred Spirit who correctly identifed the post on which the backdrop of my Mirror Mirror ATC first debuted! Since no one undertook the challenge, I will save the goodies for another time, but the correct answer is my March 3, 2010, WWOWW 9, Goodies From Donna post. I thought that the wrapping paper and the ladybug bling that Donna used to wrap my chocolate in was simply to pretty to discard, so I stashed it away for a future day and reused the paper as the background for my ATC!
There are many other items in your craft room just waiting for you to find new uses for. I’ll be sharing more of mine in the future, but in the meantime, what are some of the things you are doing to sustain the planet on a daily basis?
