Seasoned Pork Chops With Apples

Pork Chops & Apples

Looking for a unique and healthy entrée to serve your family? Is a low calorie count a bonus when you plan your meals? This delicious dish is guaranteed to delight everyone’s taste buds – combine it with brown rice for extra nutrition!

Ingredients

3     Tablespoons Olive Oil
1     Pound of Boneless Center Cut Pork Chops, Cubed
¼   Cup All-Purpose Flour
1     Teaspoon Chopped Fresh or 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Thyme Leaves
1     Teaspoon Paprika
¼   Teaspoon Pepper
1½ Cups Better Than Bouillon Chicken Broth
2     Cups Sliced Onions (about 1 Large Onion)
2     Green Apples, Peeled and Sliced
¼   Cup Chopped Fresh Parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix the flour, thyme, paprika, and pepper in a plastic bag with a zipper top. Add the pork. Seal the bag and shake it until the pork is well coated.

3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat and brown the outside of the pork. Remove the pork and set aside.

4. Add broth to the pan; scrape the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon to loosen any brown bits. Heat to boiling and then stir in onions. Cook for 5 minutes.

5. Transfer the pork and onions/broth mixture to a baking pan. Cover the mixture with apples and parsley.

6. Cover and bake for about 1 hour or until the pork is tender.

7. Serve over rice or as desired.

    Hello.
I love pork chops and this looks yummy.
We stopped eating white rice years ago, although my wife likes to indulge in the occasional Basmati rice, which I also love. Brown rice has more texture, keeps you fuller and of course is a lot healthier too.

    Excellent presentation! Thanks for sharing.
