How do you define vintage? I am not a purist. For me, style is not always measured by age or appearance. The most important qualities for me are the feelings the piece evokes.
- Does the piece transport you back to a different place and time?
- Does it resurrect memories that are long forgotten?
- Does it help you to imagine new possibilities?
I recently received some wonderful gifts from Elsina M. Schepers of EMS Arts. Elsina is a talented traditional and digital artist who resides in Israel. You cannot imagine how thrilled I was to find her beautiful Altered Soap Box in the package. The box is created in my favorite shades of blues, featuring words and elements that hold special symbolic signficance for me. Inside the box are several beautiful blue egg-shaped soaps.

Elsina also sent me a beautiful hankerchief which sent me down memory lane. When I was a little girl, my mother used to give me hankerchiefs to carry in my purse to church. I always thought they were too pretty to use for their intended purpose, so I used to fold and unfold the cloth, admiring the pretty patterns on them! Today, I collect pretty delicate bags like the ones Eslina enclosed to fill with gifts and treasures for my friends. Don’t you love how these items coordinate so beautifully?
