Card Challenge: A Season Of Joy

It feels like forever since I’ve been in a crafting mood, but Paper Sundae’s current challenge – A Change Of Season – spoke to my heart. For the past few weeks, I’ve been taking a class called Grief Share to help me walk though some painful losses in my life. During this process, one of the bible verses I’ve been reflecting on is Psalm 30:5; today’s card is a tangible reminder of that verse:

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Following are the challenges I worked with as I created this card:

Paper Sundaes Challenge #39: A Change Of Season
Ellephantastic #15 – Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew – Blooming Marvelous
Wild Orchid Challenge #7 – Stitch It Up

I stamped the interior of the card with a favorite quote from John Keats that is from his poem, A Thing Of Beauty.

All products except the button are from CTMH and include:

Boom-Di-Ada Papers
White Daisy Collection Natural Twill
Just Blooms Big Pinks Flowers
B1296 Joy Forever Stamps
C1234 Simple Stitches Stamps
E1003 Boutique Alphabet Stamps
Dye Inks: Black, Hollyhock, Olive

In answer to your question – how do you add a personal message for your readers who are leaving comments (like the one that appears above my comment box) – simply follow these easy steps:

    1) Sign into your Blogger Dashboard and click on Settings.

    2) Click on the Comments Field (NOT the Comments Tab). The Tabs are on the top; the fields are beneath them. You want the Comments FIELD which is the fourth one from the left.

    3) Go to the Comment Form Message box which is 8 rows down. Your box should be blank. Type whatever message you want to appear there and then scroll to the bottom of your screen and click on Save Settings.

    4) Now go to the main page of your blog and click on one of your posts to leave a comment. You should see your new customized message in this field!

You can go in at any time to update your message. Hope this helps – have a wonderful day!

  29. The Paper Princess says:

    Hi Tiffany,

This comment is in response to your inquiry about becoming a reply blogger. I've been meaning to write a post about this because it breaks my heart when I go to reply to emails, only to find they are set up as a No-Reply (most of them unknowingly)- so, in the meantime, I hope you find this helpful!

    First, a little background:

If you go back into your Blogger Dashboard, click on Settings, and then click on the Commments FIELD (NOT the Comments TAB) – you will find two fields that allow you to enter e-mail addresses. First is the Comments Moderation field. If you enter an email address here, whenever anyone leaves a comment, that email will be forwarded to the email address you entered (so that you will know you have a comment to moderate even if you are not signed in to blogger).

The second place you can type in an email address is the Comment Notification field. Once you have processed a moderated comment, the comment you approved will be forwarded to this address.

If a blog owner sets up one or both of these fields on blogger, in addition to having their comments appear publically on their blog, they will also receive the individual comments in their e-mail box. Many bloggers like myself will often send a person reply directly to the people who write them this way. In order to do this, however, your Blogger Profile must be set up correctly – otherwise, when you go to reply to the e-mail, instead of the return e-mail address appearing, you will receive a NO-REPLY comment in the e-mail address field, meaning you cannot directly contact the blogger.

In some instances, the individual may have intentionally chosen to set up their account this way, but in most cases, they don't know this is happening until someone makes them aware of it.

In any event, my friend Tiffany over at Tiffany's Garden posted some quick and easy instructions so that you can fix this:

    http://tiffanyrichards.blogspot.com/2010/03/get-rid-of-noreply-commentbloggercom.html

While you're there, scroll down your blogger profile and make sure that you have your blog URL typed in so that the link to your blog appears on your blogger profile. You should have this basic info set up even if you are set to Private and that is the only info you make public so that anyone you are writing has a private way to contact you and a way to find your blog if you have contacted them.

Hope this helps – have a wonderful day!
