I wanted to wish you the happiest of new years! I pray that each of your days will be filled with an overflowing abundance of blessings and joy!
This weekend, I’ll be continuing my journey down memory lane with some more highlights from 2010. If you missed my first two posts in the series, I invite you to catch up here:

Finally, I’d like to share a poem that a friend sent me many years ago. I’ve always liked the quiet optimism that this poem expresses, and in light of the current climate, it seems like a fitting way to start the year.
Sometimes
Sometimes things don’t go, after all
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don’t fail
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.
A people will sometimes step back from war;
elect an honest man; decide they care
enough; that they can’t leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.
Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss; sometimes we do as we are meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen; may it happen to you.
You can read more about the poet and the poem here. Out of respect for the poet’s wishes, I have ommitted her name from the poem.
Have a wonderful day and I’ll be back in a bit with Best Recipes Of 2010 – Fabulous Food!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Thanks for visiting my other blog – I appreciate it. I don't know yet how much I'll post on it since this year I've decided to do more around the house than sitting in front of the computer. By that, I mean I'm going to try to be more disciplined (oye weh!) I'm the most un-German person there is LOL
Anyhow, I love that poem! It's so true: Sometimes right will win and sometimes good prevails and sometimes people get what they deserve! (not always, but sometimes!) I love it!
All the best to you and yours – always!
With love,
Doris

That poem is lovely. Yes, I think we all need a little encouragement for the new year. The poem reminds me just a little of This Is My Father's World.
