Vintage Valentine: Buttons & Lace

Vintage Valentine Card from Create With Joy

Would you like to create something special for your loved one this Valentine’s Day – something that’s sure to stand out against an endless sea of pink and red – something you can easily make using items you already have on hand?

With just a piece of textured cardstock – a stamp, archival ink, and distresser (optional) – buttons, lace, and glue dots – you can create a beautiful card that’s sure to make the recipient feel cherished!

Here are a few tips for creating this Vintage Valentine card:

1. Use a heart-shaped template to line up the buttons. If you don’t have one, print one off of the Internet or trace a heart-shaped cookie cutter.

2. Gather a variety of button sizes to shape the heart with ease; I found smaller size buttons work best for this project.

  13. Marie says:

That is just adorable — I think I may modify it a bit and use with my kids — let them make Valentine pictures instead of a card — they like to be able to hang up their work and a picture would give them a bit more room to work since they're younger. I even have lace in our art box — hmmm. Thanks for the great jumpstart!

    I'm a new follower also!
