WOYWW: ATCs, Stamps, & A Fat Cat

CTMH-Patriotic-Stamps-&-Scrapbook-Supplies

What does it mean to be free? What does it mean to be independent? What does it mean to be American? What best symbolizes those things for me?

These are some of the things on my mind as I sit down to write today’s installment of What’s On Your Workspace Wednesday!

Patriotic-Stamps

I am preparing to make an ATC or two for the Patriotic ATC Blog Hop that Two Crazy Crafters is hosting this Friday. For me, the first step entails digging through my supplies to see what I have to work with. As I began to dutifully dig out my patriotic themed stamps and papers and spread them before me – I began to think about other symbols that, for me, more metaphorically represent these concepts. So, my project is on pause for the next day or two while I decide whether to pursue a traditional theme, or to create something a little more out of the box!

Now for the workspace drama of the day…

Pouting-Legend

Are you wondering why Legend is pouting? No, it isn’t because he got in trouble for his last tall tale (as a matter of fact, he is eating so well, we may soon be putting him on a royal diet!) He’s pouting because Mom accused him of playing Houdini with her stamps!

You see, while I was laying out my stuff, I turned my back for a microsecond. When I turned around, Legend had appeared out of nowhere and was sprawled across my desk – over all of my formerly acid free supplies! When I tried to lift him, he refused to budge. It took three attempts to move him, and when I finally did – one of my stamp sets was gone!

Fifteen minutes later, the missing stamp set resurfaced on a different part of my desk. I’m not sure how it got there, but when I tried to make nice with Legend, he would have no parts of it. He is a rather expressive cat, and that scowly face says it all!

Tsunami, on the other hand, is peacefully soaking up the sun and enjoying a Wordless Wednesday!

Have a fabulous WOYWW everyone! If you’re new, be sure to visit Julia at Stamping Ground to meet the creative crew… and if you’re in the States, have a fabulous Independence Weekend!

Poor putty cat, getting blamed for stealing stamps… no wonder he looks a little put out!!
I am sure you have enough patriotic stuff there to make both traditional and out of the box ATC’s!!

  3. JoZarty says:

Don’t forget to let us see the final project when you decide on your stamps.

  5. Looks like a lot of fun things to be playing with. Poor Legend you accusing him so harshly. I have two of the critters so I am empathizing with you cause usually they are at fault. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #39

  6. Neet says:

What gorgeous cats. But what a mysterious story you have told us today, now I wonder what really happened and will we ever know.
Hope to see which way you went with the atc’s – knowing me I would end up going traditional.

  10. Love your cat! My cat runs whenever I try to pick him up. Today though, he was on my chair when I went to eat breakfast and didn’t want to move. I had to ask him several times to get off and he did but wasn’t happy about it and is off somewhere pouting now.

  11. Ohhh Snap says:

Poor Legend, he was just defending your supplies from the gnomes who are known to saunter in and move things about, especially when you need them most lol. #13

  12. Leslie says:

Looks like you have many great products to make something Patriotic!! Even your blog background:)

Your kitties are so cute. Mine loves lying on my stuff, too.

    Happy WOYWW.

Hello, love the stamps on your desk this week. The 4th July stamp reminds me of one of my all time favourite Tom Cruise films – not exactly what would be going through your mind as you decide exactly which to use in your project! Legend is in good company, Bonnie quite often plonks herself on my desk to oversea matters, though she hasn’t moved a pack of stamps . . . yet 🙂 Have a great week. Elizabeth x #83

  16. Pam says:

    Cute Cat! Hugs Pam x

  17. Angie (shozzy) says:

You gave me a giggle over the lost stamp …and since we gave a roof over the head of Toto I understand more about Maine coons

  18. angelfish says:

    Perfect stamps for patriotic ATCs:)

  19. Penni says:

Well if Legend is anything like Erin or Thomas then he definately stole your stamps LOL!!!

My two are always stealing things. I have to be really careful with Erin – once I caught her eating a bit of ribbon, which when I pulled it out of her mouth was about 8 inches long and she was chewing and swallowing. It’s a good job I caught her as I think that could have turned out to be quite nasty, and very expensive !!! She’s a little devil for eating anything that is inedible !!!

I’ve got a couple of new piccies of my kitties up on my blog today if you fancy a peek.

Gorgeous cat! Legend obviously thinks he’s king of the house!

  21. DogsMom says:

You know that cats were in cahoots over this caper. They wanted to see if you would find it funny.

I think a fresh box for International Box day just for them to play in might make things right again.

  22. Morti says:

Great stamps there – I wish we had something similar for England! Hmm, maybe there’s an idea brewing there….. LOL

  23. Jackie says:
