WOYWW: Legend Confesses

Sensitive LegendLegend

Happy WOYWW from Legend, your favorite feline correspondent! Tonight, I’m writing because Mom insists that I share with you the reason why she was missing in action last week. I think she expects me to look remorseful, but you know me – I do better with charm. Anyway, Mom really did try to write and visit you all last week, but – in a nutshell – I wouldn’t let her.

You see, I am used to having 24/7 attention from her – so – I got a tad upset when she made a few social engagements without consulting me and left Tsunami and I alone to fend for ourselves. Now, granted, she wasn’t gone for that long (or so she says) – but – when you’re used to round-the-clock companionship – even a few hours seems like eternity, especially in cat time. So – after being away, I wasn’t about to let her fritter quality time she could be spending with me away on the computer. When she sat down to prepare for WOYWW – I refused to let her work.

Legend Won't BudgeHeck, No – I Won’t Go!

When she tried to bake, I sat in the middle of the table and refused to budge. When she tried to write, I pawed her arm and meowed and distracted her. When she tried to craft, I gnawed on her stamps and batted around her embellishments. Naughty? Yes. Unwaranted? No! Finally, she got the message and lavished her full attention on me.

Christmas GoodiesA Few Goodies From Mandy at Crafty Fox Cards

This week I am doing better. I am still Mommy’s shadow – I follow her everywhere – but I am rewarding her with lots of love and trills for doting over me once more. I let Mom use my table – she made Risotto with Smoked Gouda, Parmesan, and Cranberries. Check it out – I think it’s her new favorite recipe. Of course, she”d better watch her back – she’s on thin ice for not sharing any with me!

Well, that’s all for now – time to see what Mom is up to and demand some more love from her. I’m sorry I hogged Mom to myself all week but now that you know the reason, I’m sure you understand. Have a wonderful WOYWW,  and be sure to visit Julia at Stamping Ground if you’d like to join the fun!

  23. Legend looks angry in that photo. Sorry he is so needy. Bleubeard can empathize.

  24. I commented on your blog post and claimed it was a double entry. Of course, then I couldn’t find the comment I left, so you will have to accept the fact I was here. Happy belated WOYWW.

  25. Shoshi says:

A message from Beatrice the Computer Queen to Legend. I know exactly what you mean. Why do these humans of ours think they should have monopoly on the computer, and on what they call “their” time (what’s that anyway? It’s OUR time!!) and keep disappearing into their mysterious ARTHavens to make goodness knows what. Then they have other humans round and sit around talking and Ignoring Me!!! I do what they call “attention seeking behaviour” and then they shut me in the kitchen!! What’s that all about? When Mummy’s not looking I go on her computer and do all sorts of clever stuff. When she gets round to it she’s going to set it up for me to start doing Kitty Computer Classes online. Meantime she’s blogged about me – you can search for me by name on her blog and see some of the stuff I’ve done. I’m also quite good at crochet when Mummy gives me the chance.

  33. Shoshi says:

Beatrice: Thank you, Legend, for your lovely comment on my mummy’s blog. It’s nice that there are several of us blog-hopping kitties online keeping our humans in order. I’ve been a poorly girlie recently with my delicate stomach and Daddy took me to the vet yesterday and I’m now on a posh new diet with special food that they say is expensive (what does that mean, I wonder?) but it’s delicious and I haven’t been sick today! Soon I shall be as fat as Phoebe. Mummy belongs to a forum called Ravelry which is all about knitting and stuff, and there’s a section on there called Cat Knits with lots of photos and stuff about US!! That’s more like it. Kitty hugs and purrs from Beatrice xx

Just me, stopping by from the blog hop to say Hi! You know I am following so I just wanted to help with the page stats as I know the longer we stay the better it makes your blog look so here I am doing my part. Talk to ya later. I put up 4 new reviews since yesterday and will probably do one more late tonight after the hops so I can let that one be Sunday’s showcase. I have to in order to keep up with all the stuff that is coming! Have a great day!

I can understand your frustration a little bit Legend cause my fur babies are upset with me too! Sorry I am so late getting by but wanted to pop by and visit your blog this week to say hello and to see what you are up to! Didn’t have the time to post(except about newest Doswell addition) or craft the past two weeks due to being in Virginia visiting with the son’s family to see the newest granddaughter born. Definitely a fun time none the less. Hope you have a great week. Vickie aka okienurse

  38. Sarah says:

Wow!! What a cool looking cat. Is your cat a wildcat? He sure looks like one. I have kind of a mini version of yours. Someone told me to count her toes and if she has 6 she’s a wildcat. She only has 4 though, but I’m still convinced she is at least part wildcat. Yours definitely looks wild though, so if you have never counted his toes you may want to. Anyway, I’m Sarah and I’m a new follower through the blog hop. I would love for you to come follow mine. I have made posts about both my cats Bridget and Gigi. Gigi is my wildcat. Here is my link http://skylarinc.blogspot.com/. Thanks, Sarah:)

      Hi Sarah

Thanks for stopping by and following! Both of my cats are Maine Coons – one of America’s oldest natural breeds. Although there are many legends surrounding this breed – and although some of them do have a wild look to them – there is no wild blood in this breed.

A polydactyl (the official name for a 6 toe cat) simply means that the cat was born with 6 toes and is also not an indicator of whether the cat has wild blood in it.

If you’d like to learn more about various breeds of cats, I encourage you to visit the Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA) sites. In particular, TICA accepts breeds that do contain some cats that are a cross between domestic and wild breeds; CFA does not.

      Have a fabulous day!

My cat does this too! She is very independent, but clingy at the same time. My husband says she waits by the door when I run out to the grocery store, then turns and runs when I get home (so I don’t know that she waited like that, I presume). The second I sit down she is in my lap or staring at me though! Cute pictures!
