Devin Alexander’s Philosophy:
Don’t Resolve…Dream!

Devin Alexander

Devin Alexander, Author of the Biggest Loser Cookbook, says:

Years ago, I switched from Resolutions to Dreams! Sometime just before the New Year, I always write my dreams for the year then I commit to reading them every morning all year…

I like “dreams” more than “resolutions” because they never make you feel bad (if you “blow” a resolution, you’re more likely to beat yourself up or just quit). With dreams, if you set them and read them every morning, I’ve found that it keeps your focus. So if your dream is to weigh 125 pounds and you read that every morning, it reminds you to take actions.

When I gave up dieting, I lost weight. When I gave up resolutions, my dreams started coming true…hhm.

Hello, I used the hot glue gun. I got the monogram at Hobby Lobby, it was actually one that I already had. As far as the size goes, I’m not quite sure… 8″ by 5″? maybe? Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful… thanks for stopping by my blog and for your nice comments 🙂

  5. Looks like you are the first person in every blog hop I visit! I’m so impressed. I’m here from Leah’s blog, just trying to start the new year out right. Hope you’ll drop by sometime. Bleubeard gets lonely for Tsunami and Legend, too (grin).

  6. Jenn says:

Yes, Mondays are the best days. I always feel bright eyed and bushy tailed on Monday. THere’s just too many on Friday, lol. THanks for hosting.

  7. Ugghhh I wish I could inspire. I am more like a two left handed person. I am so not crafty or handy…

Hi! I just linked over from Creative Every Day. I am feeling very inspired today, though sometimes Monday’s can be tough! I just started experimenting with a new project this weekend so stop by for a peek at it if you have the chance. I will be “hopping” around to see what you others are up to and maybe I’ll get even more good ideas!

  13. I can’t wait to check out everyone’s inspiration but right now duty calls. I try to vacuum once a week otherwise the carpet turns into a 4th cat. *sigh* My inspiration for that is I can’t watch this week’s episode of Hoarder’s until I pick up! 😉

  14. Leah says:

Thank you SO much, Ramona! I’m so touched to be an inspiration to you!

Good morning Ramona! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and inviting me to link up here for Inspire Me Monday ;o) I’m working on several new projects that I finally decided I had to make time for . . . . . ME! I’ve been so busy with all of the writing and editing projects (working on other people’s writing) that I decided that I will follow my own dreams, too! Thanks for the inspiration –

I’ll link up here as soon as I post my most recent project and hopefully even those who feel they are not particularly “creative” will be inspired to give it a try. I have found that taking time to create something helps with so many of the things that fly around in my brain and seem to get “stuck” in there. When I’m painting, or crafting, or sewing, or writing poetry it just makes it possible for me to breathe deeply and feel at peace. Perhaps I should write all of that into a blog post! OK I’m off for the time being, but will definitely be back, my friend!

Looking forward to hanging out with you this year and getting to know you better. And whenever you have a book you would like review and share with me, I’ll get it posted in the Ruby for Women magazine. I’m currently working on the February issue, so be sure to let me know if you have something for me.
    BIG Hugs, Nina

PS the girls are doing great, they are excited to be back in school, we just celebrated Gracie’s 11th birthday and they are both very creative, too, so we are having great fun these winter days – the paints are on the dining room table along with lots of glitter, glue, and scissors! It’s a good day ;o)
