Launching a new meme – or any project – is a lot like giving birth. You plan for it. You set your sights high. You eagerly anticipate its arrival. You have a vision in your mind’s eye of what you want its future to hold. Then, the big day arrives, and you find yourself awash with emotion. You realize that, in many ways, it is now out of your hands. You can care for it – feed it – tend to it – grow it – but for all practical purposes, the creation you have birthed has begun a life of its very own.

I want to personally thank each person who contributed to Inspire Me Monday – Week 1! I had the privilege of visiting every single post and was blown away by your creative energies, projects, and the things you shared!  It only seems fitting that this week, I share some of the creations that particularly touched my heart. I wish I had space to share them all – they all inspired me in different ways – but I encourage you to stop by and visit our talented Inaugural Contributors!

Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath

Valentines Day Wreath

Renee at Where The Grass Is Greener

I love Valentine’s Day. It is one of my favorite holidays of the year. This year, I’ll be celebrating 14 years of marriage to a man who inspires and supports me daily. So, as you might imagine, I fell head-over-heels in love with Renee’s gorgeous Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath. Check out her instructions. If you want to create a beautiful gift for yourself or a loved one – this is my project highlight of the week!

Books – Childhood Classics
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

The Secret Garden

Cheere at Mohaus

I have never read The Secret Garden. But Cheere – a co-participant in one of my reading challenges – has. In fact, she’s read it so many times that her copy is dog-eared and she recites complete passages from memory!

Here are a few quotes she shared from the book that I fell in love with. After reading her post, I am inspired to add this classic to my 2012 reading list!

Two things cannot be in one place.
Where you tend a rose, my lad, a thistle cannot grow.

At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done,
Then they begin to hope it can be done,
Then they see it can be done —
Then it is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago.

  12. Ooh! That wreath you shared is absolutely gorgeous. I linked up with my tids and bits for some inspiration this week. It pretty much is the same old stuff for me, but I’m still playing and have forward momentum and that’s always good for something. I was proud of myself for still getting cards made even though I’ve had company this week.

  13. Marcie says:

    Love the quotes.

  14. I followed you via GFC, email, RSS, twitter, and pinterest! LOL Can you visit my blog and follow me back? I’d appreciate it! Thanks so much!
