Friendship Friday #4 – Weekend Of February 2, 2012
Welcome – we’re delighted you’re joining us for Friendship Friday! Please help us to get to know you better by following these guidelines:
1) Please answer the Question Of The Week in a Friendship Friday post that includes the Friendship Friday blog hop button and/or a link back to the post – then add your permalink to the party! The blog button code is on my sidebar.
Alternately, you may post the Friendship Friday button on your sidebar and respond to the Question of the Week in the comments. However, the best way to grow your blog community is to create your own post so that your readers get to know you and visitors can easily find and interact with you!
2) Leave a sweet comment – especially if you are a new follower or this is your first time participating! Be sure to include your suggestions for upcoming questions of the week!
3) Visit your fellow participants and get to know them – building friendships is what this blog hop is about! Support the bloggers you connect with by leaving a comment and following their blogs through one of their available subscription methods!
This blog hop is open all weekend so that you have plenty of time to post and make new friends! Have fun and be sure to join me next week for Inspire Me Monday and Wordless Wednesday!
Great question, Ramona. Right now, as a novice blogger…I’m first and foremost “learning the ropes”…I guess you would say…BUT…my primary goal in blogging is to share some encouragement, hope, etc. for someone facing a hard battle. My battle, per se, being a chronic medical condition…but, we each have our own battles in this life that we face. Thanks for the question…

Dear Erin,
Good to see you again! I love your primary goal – I really relate to it – and, as I’ve shared with you before, I truly encourage you in reaching your goals because people NEED hope and encouragment in their daily lives!
Have a blessed weekend & hope to see you for Inspire Me Monday! 🙂
My blogging goal is the same as yours: connecting.
Blessings to you dear one, and have a great weekend!

My goal right now is to increase readership, and write on my blog 5 days a week constantly. Thanks for this great link-up.

Glad to see you this weekend! Those are great goals – I hope you’ll make Friendship Friday a part of your plans for reaching at least part of your goals! 🙂
THANKS for choosing me as the Featured Friend! Im so excited. I just posted on my blogging goal…I would like to attend a blogging conference. I see BlogHer has one devoted for food in June, but that is in Seattle, so I won’t be making that one – too far. I think going to one would be so much fun.
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
What an awesome goal! I would like to do that too! There are conferences that different groups offer all over the country – and there are even some that you can follow online (The RedHeadRiter had one advertised on her blog not that long ago) – so if you keep your eyes open, I’m sure one will eventually come to your home town or nearby! SITS does conferences – Blog Paws does them for Pet Bloggers – can’t think of the others I’ve seen but there are a LOT – perhaps some of the other bloggers reading this can chip in with Blog Conference references?
There are also big pro techie conferences – you can probalby find some of those thru Problogger and blogs like that!

My blogging goal is to keep my readers happy, and interested so they’ll keep coming back to see me. I also have a meme that averages about 30 people only and I had it a little over a year I want more followers at least over 50. I go to see each & everyone when they join, and leave a nice comment & if they’re new I follow, but still only 30, but they are a faithful bunch. I run the Monday’s Music Moves Me. Everyone loves music I just don’t understand it. Oh well, have a great weekend.

Dear Dolly,
Congrats on having such a loyal following on your Monday’s Music Moves Me Meme! I love music – I started a worship series on my blog while I was on Blogger – but during my move to WordPress last year, things got kind of crazy and I just never got back to it. I’d love to resume sharing music on my blog again in the future – right now, it’s just a matter of finding the time to fit it in. When I do, I hope to join you on your hop! 🙂
Hi Ramona,
Thanks for hosting Friendship Friday. My biggest goal is to learn more about SEO. I have a lot to learn. I want to reach my target audience because I want to make my trilingual books available to as many young children as possible. I believe I have been called to fulfill a mission to expose young children to a foreign language. I see writing for young children as my second calling in life. I have answered my first calling as a classroom teacher, now God is preparing me to a new transition . It is pretty amazing how many doors has been opened.

Hi Nicole
Thanks for joining us again for Friendship Friday! SEO is a great goal to have and once you start to learn about it and have the right tools to work with, it isn’t as difficult as it first seems. Now, I am not an SEO expert by any means, but I am happy to share with you what I know, and the best piece of advice I can give to you – as a PROFESSIONAL for whom publicity and rank is essential – is to move from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress site. (I emphasize PROFESSIONAL because I am not saying that I believe that everyone on Blogger needs to move to WordPress!)
The reason I say this – having worked on both Blogger and WordPress.Org (which is the self-hosted version of WordPress – VERY different from WordPress.com, which is essentially the WordPress equivalent of Blogger) – is that WordPress is DESIGNED with SEO in mind – and Blogger is NOT. With WordPress – and with the right tools and plug-ins – you can easily control EVERY aspect of your blog’s SEO – not only at the blog level – but also at the post level as well. This means that as an author, you would have the tools necessary to target your audience for every book and every article you write.
One of my long-range goals for my blog is to write a series of articles on all of this techie stuff that I’ve learned – it’s just a matter of finding the time to do it all. But, perhaps I’ll think of some ways to incorporate “tips” into our upcoming Friendship Fridays so that all of us can share the knowledge we have in the meantime! 🙂

My goal right now besides increasing readership is to reduce my bounce rate & also try to engage more commenting. So many come through & don’t comment.I know it takes time, but isn’t that part of the pay off too engaging relationships.
Thanks for hosting. xx

Hi Theresa
Great goal and great answer – that is also one of my goals (reducing bounce rate!) Last year I felt overwhelmed because I tried to do to many things at once. This year, my same overwhelming list is still in front of my – if anything, it’s longer than before – but I’m dealing with it better focusing on just a few tasks at a time. Good luck with your goals – I hope your participation in Friendship Friday helps! 🙂
Visiting the blogs of my commenters, as well as replying to all of them. I really slacked on that last year, and I knew it was rude, but I didn’t have time!
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Ah yes, that’s a huge challenge – especially as your blog goes and you get a lot of comments! Do the best you can. You may not always be able to visit everyone – but if you visit as many people as you can on a regular basis, you’ll build good relations and keep your visitors coming! 🙂

Happy Friday 🙂 Great question this week! My biggest goal right now is increasing readership and engaging with other bloggers to learn, grow and be motivated.

Great goal! Your blog and what it stands for is awesome, Michelle, so as the word gets out, I’m sure it will grow over time! 🙂
To connect with bloggers and our readers on a regular basis. I plan to spend a few hours each week, responding to comments and leaving comments on other blogs.

Awesome goal! If you want to build community and get more comments on your blog – this is the way to do it!
Love this idea 🙂 This is the first time I’m participating – great link-up idea!

Hard to believe it’s February already. Happy Blog Hop. I hope you stop by.
I’d like a new blog design.
I’m doing some research to see how it would work.

Yay – great goal! I’m also tired of spending all of my time in places where I “feel like just a number”. I really appreciate all of you who get that quality is so much more important than quantity and are taking the time to do this right! 🙂
What a great topic for this weeks Friendship Friday! I just made my post!

Awesome – can’t wait to stop by and read it! 🙂
I’d have to say that my blogging goal right now is to put out at least 3 to 4 posts per week. The blogs that I check in with every day keep their blogs interesting by updating often. So that’s what I’d like to do. I can get so busy with the kids that I put my blogging on hold until I can “find the time” ~ and actually I need to “make the time” instead of “find the time” LOL
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Great goal! Regual posting will not only help you to gain an audience and traffic, it will also help you with SEO! Finding the time is always a challenge. If you find a few memes you like and participate in them regularly, and supplement them with a few original posts, that’s a good way to stay active with minimal stress! 🙂
My blogging goal is simple: To share what I create. Of course, having people comment it a great joy.
I have given you an award. Please come over and see it on my blog.
