Recently, I was digging through some stash and came across a large pink paint chip and a few small scraps of paper (apparently, I never throw anything away!)
Those items inspired me to make a spring-themed friendship card. I dressed it up with a few embellishments I also found in the stash pile!
This is my second creation for the 2012 Use It Up Challenge!
Special Announcement
Goodbye GFC – Hello Linky Followers
In case you haven’t heard, GFC will soon be history! Google is retiring GFC from non-Blogger blogs at the end of this month, and from Blogger blogs at a future, indeterminate date.
I am thrilled to announce that there is now a viable alternative to GFC! It’s called Linky Followers, and it’s a newly launched FREE service developed specifically for bloggers by Brent Riggs, the creator and owner of Linky Tools! Check it out – it only takes a few minutes to set up your account. You can then create a profile page – follow and track your favorite blogs – and more!
I invite you to:
- Register for Linky Followers
- Follow Create With Joy on Linky Followers
- Leave a comment so that I can reciprocate
Have a fabulous WOYWW and hope to see you at Inspire Me Monday, Wordless Wednesday and Friendship Friday!
Happy WOYWW to you too. Did not know about the Google thing, will look into the Linky option soon. For now I must go to work!
That is a great card!!
Love the recycle idea with the card, Have a great week, Hugs May x x x x
Following now also on linky, would appreciate follow back on same. Thanks.

Okay, got Linky set up and following you. Now, how do you find your profile address, like if I wanted to include this as part of my requirements to enter a giveaway. Is there an address yet to send them to? I forgot to look. Will go back later. Well, this must be catching on somewhat. I already have 8 followers of course that includes you and the guy who made it so 6 other people are doing this! I must really be out of loop because I never heard of this one until you emailed me. Good news is I am past 3,800 followers on G+! That is over 1,000 more than GFC! I have finally got over 7,600 FB followers too. So, I think I can relax a little. Only thing I am bummed about is my Google Rank did not go up. Everyone says theirs did but mine stayed at 2! Gosh, am I really more active and busy than I was when they put me at 2! Go figure. Okay, gotta go and talk later.

Wrote you privately Mary but in case anyone else has the same question:
For Linky Followers, if you need your Profile Address, once you join and get the box installed on your site, simply click on FOLLOW ME and the URL that displays will be the link you use as your profile address!
Now that is a good idea using the colour sample for the card.
Love the card, its really pretty and gorgeous colours 🙂
Have a great WOYWW and a fab week, Karen #92
Great idea for a card. So its make with the paint sample thing and you cut out the squares and glued it on?

Hi Kenya,
The paint chip inspired me to use some pink paper strips I found in my scrap pile to create the card! The “movement” in the butterfly-patterned paper then caught my eye, so I found a few embellishments and carried out that theme in 3-D! 🙂 I still have the intact paint chip – I used cardstock for the card base!
great colours on the paint chip strip!!! Great spring cards – Looking good…Thanks for letting us look in and peek at your desk… Sarah at 7

Wow, Ramona, a card…I was starting to think that you were eternally organising your space! Love the UIU angle, but really like that the inspiration came from your scrap box too!
Great card! I have a stack of color swatches from home improvement stores. I saw somewhere that you can rub off the writing using a white eraser – haven’t tried it yet.

Cute card, job well done :)Thanks for the info.,yes I’ve heard it’s happening but I’m always putting that kind of thing off.Because you made it sound so easy though I’ll try it right now.I suppose once I learn one way-I just don’t like change when it comes to computers. Denise

Hi Denise,
I know what you mean about not liking change.. I really hate that GFC is going away! I DO like Linky Followers though and hope you’ll join me there – it’s a nice alternative and I’m hoping that it’s functionality will increase even more over time (it’s only been a few weeks since it launched and it is catching on like wildfire!)
