My Easter Surprise
Last week, I shared Yona William’s wonderful Friendship Friday post
Easter Tradition I Miss with my husband.
I thought that we should do something fun like that in the future.
Be careful what you wish for!
Last Sunday, I received a personally crafted invitation from my husband
Inviting me to my own private Easter Egg Hunt!
Somewhere in our home he had hidden a special egg for me to find.
Finding the egg meant I would receive a special prize!
As you can imagine, I was as giddy as a school girl!
The hunt was so much fun!
I had 10 minutes to find the egg.
With adrenaline racing through my veins,
I began to tear the place apart!
4 minutes later – I was exhausted!
10 minutes later – my home looked like a cyclone had hit
Still – no signs of that mystery egg!
The clock was reset.
Another 5 minutes passed.
By that time I was moving slower than Betty White.
Still – no egg!
Apparently, my Easter Egg hunting skills are not what they used to be!
Neither is my stamina.
Finally – on the 3rd attempt – I found it!
It was the most fun – if most embarassing – Easter Egg Hunt ever!
Thankfully there were no witnesses
Except the cats, who thought I had lost my mind!
I did receive the grand prize from the gracious host!
Of course, at that point, it felt more like the “pity prize”!

Good morning Marcia – you’re not super early – I’m super late! I usually post on Thursday evenings but this week, because I’m participating in The Ultimate Blog Party, I did not go live with Friendship Friday until Friday morning! The hop is open all week so link up whenever it’s convenient! 🙂
This week. my daughter isn’t sleeping well and we usually have to take her for a walk in the stroller. All week my husband did it while I did blog stuff and read. I was so happy and it made me smile!

Oh WOW – that was soooo sweet! It sounds like you had a lot of fun! It also really touched me that my post inspired such a good time! I really enjoyed reading about the experience – it’s like I could feel your energy as you searched for the egg. Hi Andrea –
My husband rocks! He did help me with the clean up (I was no shape to do so after the hunt!) I was having the worst of fibro days and my allergies/asthma has been acting out in full force which is why I wore out so quickly!
There is supposed to be a surprise in the egg but to be honest – I haven’t opened it yet! I wanted to take a picture first and haven’t gotten around to doing so. But, the “prize” was a box of my favorite truffles (which I also have not broken into yet – can you believe my willpower!)

The last time I was surprised – and I mean really surprised was when I found out I was pregnant with Princess Nagger. After a brush with cervical cancer followed by surgery followed by the warning I’d not be able to get pregnant ‘normally’ followed by 4 miscarriages over the years…to find out I was 5-1/2 months pregnant with my little Miracle was a huge surprise. 😉

That SURPRISE hunt sounds fun! Thank you for featuring me and your kind words. I am also participating in the Ultimate Party Blog Hop! I was in New Hampshire and SURPRISED to get your e-mail saying I was featured here today! But I like the idea of being surprised so much I may ponder further and dig into my journals past and find a story of a time I really was surprised with a Baby Shower! I don’t get surprises too often. As a matter of fact, by now, I think you probably begin to think my life is so bland. It kind is…I work a lot and spend a lot of time with my family. My family is probably much less colorful than I so that makes it really hard to get surprises.
Since surprises requires a little creativity. Have a wonderful week…:-)
