Friendship Friday – The Weekend

Friendship Friday

Food For Thought
Weekends don’t count unless you spend them
Doing something completely pointless.
Bill Watterson

Question Of The Week
What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?
Do you have anything special planned for this weekend?
What are your favorite weekend activities?
Share your thoughts!

My Answer
I love to relax on the weekends!
I also like to catch up with family and friends,
Spend quiet time with the Lord,
And try and explore new things!

Here’s a few of my favorite activities:

Curl up with a good book.
Take a nature walk.
Listen to good music!
Write.
Create something beautiful.
Journal.
Play games!
Do puzzles.
Try something new.
Share a good meal.
Pamper myself!

How about you?
Inspire us with your weekend plans
And your favorite weekend activities!

Yours is a huge blessing to me as well Dawn – I recently subscribed to your blog by email (and if you saw what my inbox looked like you would KNOW what a huge complement that was!)

  7. Jim says:

All of my days, I’m retired, are like Saturdays except Sunday. So Sunday is church and Sunday school day for me.

But there is more neat things to do on weekend day. This Saturday Mrs. Jim and I have a date. The Houston Grand Opera is playing ‘The Barber of Seville’ at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. It is free.

We’d rather not sit on the hill in the grass so we can get there around noon and pick up free tickets to the air conditioned (this is Houston, Texas) seating area with theater seats.

Friday night we are going to a ‘shrimp boil’ that Mrs. Jim’s Sunday school class is having for their monthly party. It will be at a neighbor’s home, outside. There are over 120 members of her class but not all will be able to make it, I am sure. Of course part of the purpose of the parties is to invite potential new class and new church members.

The alarm went off this morning and I hollered to make sure my oldest was up and moving and said “Happy Friday! It’s the weekend…let’s get moving….(to my husband) it IS Friday right???” Absolutely love the weekends!!! Gives me some down time, my family time to just relax with one another and recuperate from our busy and hectic weeks. So….Happy Friday everyone!!! Blessings to you all :0)

  11. Relax and read especially in the warm weather when we sit by the pool.

  12. Harriet says:

We have had beautiful weather- as in leave the windows and patio doors open- all week long. Unfortunately, we are getting a hot, humid and rainy forecast for the weekend. Guess I’ll get a lot of inside chores done.

    Have a great weekend!

  13. Relaxing, with no morning routine rush is always a favorite thing on the weekends. This weekend I have plans to go through one of the rooms that has become a borderline hoarders room to get rid of unnecessary stuff. Doesn’t that sound exciting? 🙂

  14. My favorite way to spend the weekend is doing something fun with my family that involves no stress. Nothing special planned this weekend, just working on the yard now that two trees were taken down yesterday. Favorite weekend activities are reading, taking walks, going to the park, and relaxing.

  15. Kelly says:

Thanks for sharing your Friendship Fridays with the gang at NOBH.

This week was kind of weird. Spent most of it on my #2 son. 1/2 of this weekend will be dedicated to him again. So really, I only have tomorrow to do something with SO and T. I want a seafood bash again, but not sure if it’s possible, given how much crab costs now a day. Other than that, I want to spend sometime in the yard. Happy Weekend and have fun.

  19. Savannah says:

I love baking, hiking with my husband, taking the kids to the beach and Skyping with my parents! Also crafting and reading 🙂

  20. Joyce says:

Last time I followed you on Pintrest today I decided to follow your tweets.

For me the weekend means two things, cleaning and relaxing. Saturday is usually the big cleaning day and Sunday being the Lord’s day is a day to relax and spend time with my boys. We love playing games, tossing the Frisbee or football around. Some times I would work on a craft project it has been a while since I did that. Lately we have taken to going to the gym later on in the afternoon, there is no one there, it’s great.
