Mister Naughty Pants’ New Toy Box

Mister Naughty Pants New Toy Box - 1

Hello dear friends! Today while Mom was working in the bedroom, sorting through her clothes and what-nots, I made the greatest discovery. Mom is planning to surprise me with a new toy box! Isn’t it lovely? Since she knows I love to play in boxes, she decided to clear out one of her dresser drawers and convert it into a toy box for my exclusive use. Why else would I find a nice empty clothes drawer sitting on the bed, surrounded by stacks and stacks of folded clothes?

Mister Naughty Pants - Old Toy Box

I love my new toy box. It’s much nicer than that tiny toy box she tried to pawn off on me when I was a kitten (see how I scowled!) This one is so nice – the exterior is painted pretty blue and it’s lined with special paper! In the past few minutes, I have explored every nook and cranny, lying in five different positions before deciding that the best one is totally stretched out!

I feel like I’ve moved up to a high rise apartment – in the sky – y – y!

I know Mom took her clothes out of it and spruced it up just for me. Even if she hasn’t filled it with any cat toys as of yet.

Here comes Mom now. I hope she isn’t too disappointed that I ruined her surprise.

Look Mom! I found my surprise! I am SO very happy! I just love my new digs!

Mister Naughty Pants - New Toy Box 2

What is that you say? This drawer isn’t for me? You want me out now (and you’re none too pleased that you have to clean out the cat hair before you put your clothes back in my box?)

Hmmp! Well – I never! I can’t believe I’ve been – evicted! Just when I thought I was moving up in the world! I am going to assume that Mom’s attitude is all for show. Why else would she talk to me in that tone of voice? I can only assume that she is overwhelmed by disappointment that I ruined her surprise. After all, I did discover my new toy box before she had a chance to fill it with toys and a cozy blanket.

So, I’ll be gracious and play along for now… but tune in next time… I’m sure I’ll be writing to you from my new digs!

Mister Naughty Pants Slumming

In the meantime, I’m signing off from the land of plastic bags and slum brown boxes!

Yours Truly,
The Irrepressible Mister Naughty Pants

Um, Mr. Naughtpants needs a basket like my Aurora has! LOL. Oh I swear I have been thinking that my Ashley and Aurora need a double date with Tsunami and Legend. OK, seriously they are both boys, right? lol. I think I need to do a special post in honor of my girls …like a dating game for cats- lol! Sweet pics and post!

Mister Naughty Pants has no shortage of places to call his home… but he is ALWAYS into the latest and greatest!

Yes, Tsunami & Legend are both boys, and they are both eligible bachelors (although if Ashley and Aurora are looking to start a family –
well – let’s just say my boys might not be up to the task!)

But a post about your sweeties sounds like a delight – if they double date, can we chaperone? (lol!)

What a giggle…I enjoyed reading all the antics and it reminded me of my cat ‘Mindy’ who sadly isn’t here anymore, but she used to love anything like this…even our cases when we were about to travel…I often wondered if it was her way of saying…”you’re going nowhere with out me!” ^..^

  3. ha ha ha, i enjoyed this post so much! my son brought home a stray cat a few months ago and so i know what you mean!

…ahhh Mr Naughty Pants what a delightful tale you tell today, in the space of minutes you have a new home then eviction, whata a poor cat to do?…a little tip from me to you, it’s something we have to remember in the human world ‘never assume’ for it can get you into allsorts of trouble like eviction…have a purrrfect day…Mel 🙂

  5. Oh how I wish I had a cat! Loved your post, thanks for the chuckle.

I have no idea, Caren! You know how humans are (no offense met)… totally unpredictable… some days they treat you like royalty… the next thing you know, they demonstrate their quirks! Like I said, the only explanation that makes sense to me is that she was SO disappointed that I ruined her surprise, she was trying to put on an act (I must say, Mom is QUITE the actress – if I did not know better, she would have had me convinced!) However, thanks to caring readers like you and the ingenious Princess Judy, I have plans to help give Mom the break that she deserves.

      ME-ow!

What a witty kitty you’ve got! Love this! My cats growing up used to love boxes, especially in the wintertime when it got cold. We always sat one on the front porch upside down with a little kitty door cute out and warm cozy blankets inside. In the mornings we’d always see a furry kitty nose peeking out the cardboard hole when we opened the front house door to let him in. Gee, how I wish I could have a cat now! Found you on WFMW. Enjoy your fuzzy friend.

I don’t have cats, but I feel that this particular one really does have a thing for boxes…do you think he was a packer in a former life?!

  15. Hee hee. I love that one photo of Mr. Naughty Pants! Very cute.

  16. Mr. Naughtypants, I’m so sorry to hear that you got evicted from such a fab space and have to slum in brown boxes. You are a smart kitty, surely you can figure out how to open the drawer and pull all those annoying clothes out of the way to get your new box back? Our Jack does this all the time. One day he pulled open almost all the bedroom drawers and pulled stuff out of them. At first I thought the place had been ransacked. He opened up all the kitchen cupboards and closet doors too. That was the day Jari cat was at the vet all day. Methinks he was looking for her.

      Oh Princess Judy,

You have truly made my day with such splendiforous tips! I KNEW there was a reason I loved the WOYWW crowd so much! My Mom often looks so fatigued… I think I will have to show my appreciation for ALL that she does for me and surprise HER by saving her the energy of having to unpack her clothes for me and doing JUST as you suggested! I will be sure to give you FULL CREDIT for your suggestion when I implement my latest surprise! (I am NOT afraid to give full credit when credit is due!)

Love to you, Jack and Jari,
      The Irrepressible Mister Naughty Pants

    Dear Mr. Naughty Pants,
I am sorry to hear of your recent eviction and your being highly unappreciated. Please note that someone of your status should be ( at the very least ) living in a beautifully papered box of your own. I am sorry that your mom is not providing that for you. Please come to North Carolina and I will make sure you are better taken care of, sincerely Sandee waving hi from the hills of North Carolina 🙂

      says:

Thank you, Sandee, for understanding my plight. In truth, someone of my stature should have a high rise kitty condo with trees for me to climb upon, but I’ll save THAT tale for another day! At least my mom had the decency to clear off her desk so that I could take a break from the slum brown box. I’m sure she felt guilty after she read everyone’s kind comments and is trying to get back in my good graces!

But – I hear that North Carolina is beautiful in the summer so if you hear a trilling at your window one night – don’t be alarmed – it might just be me taking you up on your vacation offer!

      Mister Naughty Pants – ME-ow!

Aww, I just love this post! I’ve been giggling straight through it. My friend’s cat just went nuts last weekend for a brown paper bag from Trader Joe’s, he was in it, out of it, sneaking in, pouncing in… I wish I’d been ready with a camera! I love your captures here.

We have a cat that climbs into everything, too. Last year I found him in my son’s football helmet. He also climbs into and through his shoulder pads. Into gift bags. Whatever. If he can get in it, he will.

The other cat just has one favorite spot — the sock basket. We frequently have to move him to get to the socks. But it’s better than when he decides to lie on my nice clean clothes I’ve just folded on my bed.

Cute story. Thanks for sharing. Stopping by from SITS. Have a great weekend.

Cats (and dogs too) like a sanctuary where they can hide out from the world and relax in their own space. I had to smile at your kitty assuming the drawer was his new box. We are like that too, expecially when we want to get quiet before the Lord and worship him.
Thank you for sharing your true story at Tell me a Story.
