WOYWW – The Aftermath Of Moving

WOYWW - Unpacking

Happy WOYWW to you, dear friends!
Wondering what my workspace looks like today?
Welcome to life after moving!

WOYWW - Boxed In

I am slowly working my way through the boxes.
I’ve made a lot of progress.
As you can see, there is still a long way to go!

I look forward to the day when I can share a space void of boxes!

I need inspiration and encouragement!
Please inspire me with your beautiful spaces and
Share your workspaces
(Especially if they’re messier than mine!)
Be sure to leave a comment so that I can visit!

Have a wonderful week and stop by Julia’s to see all the links!

  1. The good news about unpacking is that you rediscover things that you’ve forgotten about! Take your time and enjoy the process.

    Happy WOYWW

I kind of like movin gin a way. We moved a lot when I was a kid as my folks bought and reno’d and flipped houses so they could eventually afford a horse far.

I know it is a lot of work, but there is a wonderful opportunity to change up how you store things, to redo old ways, to create new methods and placements…It is kind of freeing.

One of my daughters is super organized. i was like her when i was younger and healthier. She always pops over for a few hours each day for the first 2 or 3 days. It is amazing what possibilities someone else sees…different pair of eyes…different ideas…all can be put to good use.

  7. Julia Dunnit says:

Oh it’s really tough – the gap between packing and unpacking just isn’t long enough! Still, think of the voyage of discovery whilst you unpack and re-home..based on your prior experiences, you’ll know just where everything needs to go to make your craft area work for you.

  8. Wow, you got a lot to get through. Hope you see your crafty space emerge from all the boxes very soon. Michelle x

  9. I don’t see the linky – perhaps it’s still in a box?

Oh my! The thought of moving house terrifies me, lol. I’m going to be moving my craft room into another room in a couple of months, and I’m waiting till its all decorated & got the storage up and just moving stuff straight across- I’d need a mountain of boxes! I love to see all those cardboard fruit boxes- they’re a thing of the past now here. Everything in supermarkets comes in plastic trays.Have a great Wednesday, Hugs Shaz #96 xx

  11. Karen says:

Oh dear, the memories of moving…….you’ll soon have it sorted and be back at WOYWW!!! Keep smiling….and count to 10….or 100, whichever is applicable!! Karen T 100 x

Just think of all the goodies that you will re-discover and then have wonderful thoughts of creation about. I know it is daunting but you will get there and when you do your space will be what you want it to be.

  14. Famfa says:

Boxes boxes everywhere. I remember that eleven months ago. But it does get clearer and it gives you a chance to sort stuff out and have a clear out. Hope you sort it soon and get some crafting done box less x

  17. Danielle says:

I have done this more times than I care to count, but it is usually always worth it in the end. Plus, sometimes you find goodies that you have forgotten about. Good luck! dani#132

We are considering moving house again next year and so your photos were greeted with a groan and an ‘oh no’ – I’m not sure I can face all the packing of stash and then unpacking again 🙁 On the sunny side of that cloud, I can see that I will enjoy rediscovering all sorts of half-forgotten goodies 🙂 I hope you have a great week and a happy WOYWW. Golly… that’s some pile of boxes! I’m about to go into the other end of the process. Am packing up my mother’s dollshouses at present to be shipped off to a new life in Europe, and then I’ll have to start on my craft stuff. Hopefully, given that I’m several steps behind you, I’ll be able to continue visiting you for the inspiration of what it’s like to come out the other end with a brand new craft space! Good luck, and belated happy WOYWW!

I dread the day we have to move all of this stuff (though we love our house, we’re thinking we’ll select a different one for retirement). Hope you’re box free soon. 🙂

  32. Zildara says:

Ooh, I remember that look… That’s what my space looked like a couple of months ago. Luckily, it’s now just a creative mess rather than a pile of boxes. You’ll get there!

  33. Paula Gale says:

    Hiya Ramona

Well, ashamed to say, I’ve not dropped in for a while, so first up – how are you?! Well I hope. How are the gorgeous boys? Plenty of boxes to climb on, scratch – maybe even hide in!

Sorry – I didn’t know you were moving, did you fancy a change, or was it more of an unplanned move on your part – either way, the unpacking is as bad as the packing. Unless like me. We’vebeen in this house 10 years. It feels like about 4 or 5. We were at our last house just under 5 – it felt like 10… couldn’t wait to get out! Anyway, we’ve still got stuff we didn’t unpack when we moved, but that’s in the loft (attick/roof space). Thank goodness for lofts!!!!

Wishing you well with your unpacking and settling in. Nice to see that you’ve not stopped blogging throughout the experience. I’d be lost if I couldn’t go on the internet for just one day!!!

    Hugs

      Hi Paula,

It is always such a blessing to hear from you! The boys are great, now that they have adjusted to their new home. You can see the latest photos of them on my Wordless Wednesday post!

In answer to your question about the move… a little of both! We were also in our previous place a long time so this move has been rough – but we love where we are now! Hope we can stay here a good long time!

Have a wonderful week and hope to see more of you in the future! 🙂

This will be me one week from yesterday! The Hubs and I are moving into a larger home in town (currently live in the sticks). While I am looking forward to the extra space for our family, I am not looking forward to the state of chaos that follows for a while after 😉
