Reach E-Book Review
Have you ever wondered why you exist in the 21st century – during a time when we are connected to the world like never before – in a society when technology changes so fast, it boggles the mind?
The Bible says in Acts 17:26 that our presence here is no accident:
God began by making one man, and from him he made all the different people who live everywhere in the world. He decided exactly when and where they would live.
One technology that has changed the very fabric of our lives is Social Media.
While some people associate Social Media with entertainment, self-promotion, and certain evils in society, Laura Krokos and Angie Pratt are out to change that perception.
In their new e-book Reach, Laura and Angie show Social Media users how to influence others for the glory of God!
Using our social influence for good begins with intentionality and purpose. To be effective, we need to know what our mission is and how we are going to accomplish it!
We may need to shift our perspective. For instance, we may not think of ourselves as missionaries, particularly when we sit down to blog or tweet or update our Facebook statuses, but the authors explain that:
A mission field is nothing more than a gathering of people who need the saving love of Jesus.
In that context, they challenge us to care for those within our sphere of influence, and to be aware of the opportunities for ministry that God sends our way!
Laura and Angi remind us that Jesus gave us a Great Commission to fulfill that consists of two parts:
Evangelism is sharing the message of the gospel through words, and discipleship is helping others walk by faith, communicate their faith, and multiply their faith.
Reach provides us with a MAP containing the Methods, Avenues, and Points to guide us through the process, and identifies some key pitfalls of Social Media to avoid!
Reach – How To Use Your Social Media Influence For The Glory Of God is filled with lots of fascinating facts, stories, information and resources that will inspire you to impact the lives of those around you!

I feel so called to exactly this place now. The Blogosphere. For such a time as this. My heart resonates with the same heartbeat (I think) that the message from this book implies! I knew when I started blogging in May 2011 that God wanted me to step out in faith and my boldness has only increased and confidence in the specific calling. To say I am overjoyed that this book has been birthed is an understatement. WIll I jump for joy when I read it as a solo cheer squad holding my Kindle? Probably. Thanks for the review and your friendship! I really am inexperienced with twitter. It makes me feel a bit dumb. lol. Have a great weekend, Ramona!

I was thinking of that passage “for such a time as this” the entire time I was reading the book – I almost used it in the review!
You WILL jump for joy as you read this book Dawn – I was also thinking about you and your recent Social Media post during this time.
I’m SO glad you won a copy of the book at the Twitter Party and I hope you’ll chat tweet me when you’re online! It DOES take some getting used to – I felt “dumb” at first too – but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature!
Have a great weekend too! 🙂
Visiting from SITS sharefest! Love the concept of consciously using social media to witness.
I’m always amazed at how cruel people can be with social media. I have never been a big fan of it, maybe this book would change my mind.
