Mini-Bloggiesta – February 2013

Bloggiesta

Mini-Bloggiesta Kick-Off

How many of you are familiar with Bloggiesta – a bi-annual event blogging event hosted by and for book bloggers to help them improve their blogs, catch up on their To Do lists, and meet other bloggers in the process?

This weekend, Bloggiesta is hosting their first Mini-Bloggiesta – a 2-day event (February 2-3, 2013) in which bloggers are invited to participate in Mini-Challenges and network with one another through their blogs and on Twitter!

I am excited to announce that I’m participating in the Mini-Bloggiesta and I hope you’ll join me too!

If you are participating in or visiting from Bloggiesta, please let me know! I’d love to connect with you here and on Twitter at @CreateWithJoy1!

I will update this post throughout the weekend, so if you’d like to check my progress, check back frequently!

Mini-Bloggiesta Wrap-Up

I just completed my first Mini-Bloggiesta and what a weekend it was!

#Bloggiesta Twitter Party

I attended the Saturday night Twitter Party and had the opportunity to connect with friends old and new! The discussion was quite lively! One of my favorite discussion questions was events, with everything from Readathons to Armchair BEA discussed!

Mini-Challenges I Completed

The main focus of my weekend was reading and writing reviews and connecting with other book bloggers! I also spent a good bit of time just organizing all things book-related. Because of my efforts at last week’s Winter Biannual Blogathon Bash, my technical focus was minor this weekend.

1. Write Some Book Reviews Mini Challenge – Completed

2. Clean Up Your Blog Mini Challenge – Completed

  • Fixed broken links.

3. Comments Love Bloggiesta Challenge – Completed

  • Completed the official challenge.
  • Commented on as many participating blogs as possible this weekend!

4. Clean Up Your Sidebars – Completed

  • Incorporate Feb updates.

Join Us For The Next Bloggiesta!

The next Bloggiesta is scheduled for March 22 through March 24, 2013.

Please mark your calendars and join us for this fun and fabulous event!

  6. Good luck with your goals for this weekend! Writing book reviews is what I’m going to be focusing on this weekend.

  7. Maria says:

I’m probably the laziest participant this time around, my only goal is to chat and be social. But I’m good at that, so at least I can guarantee my own success! 🙂 Hope you have productive weekend!

You made me smile, Maria – after the Biannual Blogathon last week, I’m tempted to just chat and be social too!
But, I have a ton of books to read and review, so that is the plan for the weekend!

Have fun and I’ll see you at tonite’s party! 🙂

  8. Good luck with your challenges! I have loads of reviews to get done, so hoping to catch up this weekend.

Another blogging weekend and another great list of goals to accomplish and bloggers to meet. Glad to see you for 2nd weekend in a row. Hope you are having better luck than I am in accomplishing your goals.

It’s good to see you too Tanya! Enjoyed chatting with you last night!
Did not get nearly as much done as I hoped to yesterday – but it’s Super Bowl Sunday so I have a full day to myself!

Great job with all you accomplished this weekend. Funny you mentioned Armchair BEA and Readathons because I wrote exactly the same thing in my wrap-up post so I would remember to come back to it. I need to find out more and sign up for those events.

A full day to yourself? No wonder you were able to knock your goals out of the park! Way to go!

You did great! I managed to write the book review I had planned to write and someone said organizing my books at home and that’s what took up most of my day so I’m including it. 😉

    Thanks for stopping by!

  18. Judith says:

What a great result! I loved doing a bit of work on my blog – not long till the next Bloggiesta! Are you making a to-do list in the mean time? I know I will. 🙂

    • Create With Joy
      Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
      says:

Lol Judith… my list is so long I never clear it – I just pick up where I left off last time! 🙂
      (I am a Type A list maker!)

Look forward to seeing you at the next Bloggiesta!
If you’re not familiar with it, you should check out the Biannual Blogathon too – it’s another fabulous event!
Entirely blogging oriented, versus book oriented, so if you have lots to do on your blog, it’s the place to be! 🙂

      • Judith says:

Thanks for that suggestion, Joy. I will look into the Bloggathon Bash, I love all these blog events!

Awesome Judith – would love to connect with you at the next event!
The next official Blogathon Bash is in the summer but they are going to start doing monthly Twitter chats –
The 1st Twitter chat is Saturday February 16, 2013 10pm-11pm EST – hope to see you there!
