Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
When it comes to cat parenting, I am pretty chill.
I only have a few rules.
Know the difference between a litter box and a shoe box
(And treat both accordingly.)
Stay off the stove and the kitchen counters.
Don’t treat my computer workspace like a jungle gym.
Would it surprise you to learn that Mister Naughty Pants
Has broken the rules on more than one occasion?
The other day, I was sitting at my computer and
Legend was faithfully sitting by my side,
Peering outside the window,
Watching the birds go by.
Then, I turned my head for just a moment.
When I turned back, my sweet Legend was gone.
I looked all around but he was nowhere to be found.
Where had my little Houdini gone?
Surely he had not escaped my watchful eye!
And then it happened.
From out of nowhere appeared Mister Naughty Pants!
Haughtily he strolled from Legend’s cozy window perch
And stealthily sat behind my computer monitor.
Silently stalking me, just
Watching, waiting, and wanting to be found.
When I saw him –
I jumped, startled!
Visions of mangled hardware danced through my head!
Mister Naughty Pants –
Nonplussed by being noticed –
Delighted in being discovered –
Ignored all pleas for him to come out, opting instead to
Romp and stomp among the routers!
Finally – when he got bored –
He sat and stared at me with his big luminous eyes
Reminding me that I am the human and
He is The Cat.
Which brings us to Lynn M. Osband’s astute observation:
The mathematical probability of a common cat
Doing exactly as it pleases is the one
Scientific absolute in the world!

Well, this looks familiar!
LOL This is so true about cats. Very independent and they do exactly as they please. Good thing they’re cute, yes? 🙂

Love the story; love the quote! Hugs & belly rubs!
I’ve seen that look before. LOL Our little Rascal lives up to his name. Just like your kitty.
When you look that good, you’re allowed to have a mind of your own. 😉
Hey Naughty,
You need to mind your Mom better! She is only looking out for you, and chewing wires (something that all cats like to do, unfortunately) is NOT the safest thing to do. Besides, it ruins Mom’s computer and we would miss your silly antics!

When Tsunami was a kitten he bit the cord to Mom’s telephone headset in half and chewed through her keyboard cord!
Now you tell me – who is the REAL Mister Naughty Pants in our home?!
Legend (who is tired of getting such a bad rap – ME-OW!)
We cats always do what we want, MOL! 🙂

I wish my cat would pose for pictures. She just swats at the camera. Be blessed this week!

A box is a BOX…and boxes are so much fun, trying to squeeze their little chubby selves into it regardless of it’s size…kind of like me trying to get into my jeans after a sedate Winter!…:)JP

Thanks Heather!
Love the expression on his face as well as the story behind the picture. I can vouch for the absolute certainty of cats doing as cats please.
LOL my cats break all of your rules on a daily basis. I am a horrible disciplinarian.
My cats are pretty much always exactly wherever they’re not supposed to be! They love the screensaver on MHI’s computer so much it’s dangerous (bubbles! cat toys!)
Thanks so much for linking up 🙂

Like I was telling Andrea on her post…watch out if cats ever grow thumbs, like real, working thumbs. Yikes!
Anyway, cats are true rule breakers. You know, I know…we all know it. 😉
Years ago, our Vet married a woman who owned a cat. Her cat did not like him and to show disrespect, the cat used the Vet’s shoes for a litter box. Thank you for sharing at “Tell Me a Story.”
