Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy
When Tsunami was a young kitten,
One of his favorite pastimes was
Stalking imaginary prey in our kitchen!
I often wondered what ran through his mind
During these special playtimes.
Perhaps he envisioned a world such as this?
Imagine you are a wild lion –
The King Of The Jungle –
The Lion King Himself –
Living in the heart of the Serengeti.
You are sunning in a grassy woodland
When you spot him:
A lone gazelle,
Drinking at a nearby watering hole
Unaware that danger is lurking nearby –
Unaware of his role in the Circle Of Life.
Quietly, stealthily, you slink to the ground,
Belly flattened,
Nose to the wind,
Whiskers quivering in excitement,
As you crawl,
Inch by inch,
Paw by paw,
On flattened belly,
Through the cover of grass,
Towards your unwitting victim.
Pray, prey, pray!
A storm is on the loose.
A Tsunami is on the horizon!
James Mason aptly observed that:
Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time,
For they are unfailing ingenious in that respect.
There are few things more pleasurable in life
Than watching a kitten at play!

Adorable!!
Happy WW 🙂
I love this! Last night I watched my son’s cat stalk a tape measure, my son’s girlfriend’s hair, and her own tail, all in the course of 15 minutes! Thanks for the great post & photo & for hosting, & God bless!
Aren’t kittens amazing? I love my cats – but I SO miss their kitten days / ways!
I think that is too cute. My puppy stalks imaginary things under my bed. I have no idea what she is looking for, but I hope she finds it.

Happy WW, thanks for the party!
LOL Tsunami looked cute stalking heheh!
Have a meowlicious week 😉
I totally agree with you! I LOVE your poem! You’ve truly captured a cat’s ‘kittiness’…or should I say ‘lion-ess’! Thanks for hosting.
Thanks Loy – I miss seeing him stalk like this!
Thanks for linking up, I’ve done the same. x
Maybe there was something there that was quicker than Tsunami and it got away.

What an absolutely ADORABLE cat! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful photo of him!
Oh how I use to chuckle when our cat would run around the house pretending someone or something was chasing her! I sometimes wonders if we had ghosts!
You know, I often wonder if cats see things that we just don’t!
Such a great photo! Sometimes I’ll hear my cat giving a few wild cries….when I check her out she’s usually killing one of my hairbands or something silly that she found laying around
ISn’t it amazing when their wild instincts take over – and how we respond to their cries?
Have an awesome week Debra!
Thanks so much for the linky 🙂
Adorable! At least Tsunami knows how to keep himself entertained no matter what! 🙂 Happy WW!
He truly does! If only we all could be so creative!

Mines up as well at AussiePomm – A Photographers Kit!!!!
Have a great day!!
Thanks – I love this pic too! 🙂
Imaginary preys… I am trying to imagine that.
Great picture.
Thank you for hosting.
You’re so welcome – thanks for joining us each week! 🙂
Oh, I just love all those tuffs of fur! Great job stalking there Tsunami…I’m thinking your home must be mouse free with all Tsunami’s “practice”. 😉
Our house is definitely mouse free – at least the live kind! 🙂
Hmm…fun for the big cat; NOT so much fun for the gazelle! lol
Everything about this post is so heartwarming. And Tsunami is adorable as a youngster. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
Thanks Janet – hope you and your cats are doing well!
I thought our cats did some weird things, but nothing like this! LOL! What a cutie, and love the name. 🙂
Good stuff! I just love the photos of Tsunami! Thank you for hosting WW. I will be back in the morning (it’s late Tuesday here) and find others’ blogs to comment on. In the meantime, have a wonderful Wednesday!
You too Cyndi! 🙂
Tsunami (nice name) is always so adorable! I look forward to your WW blog hop every week!
Have a nice day!
Thank you so much Veronica – you made my day! 🙂
Cats are just too funny! Thanks for sharing and the linky!
Cute photo!
Hubby is back from his Mom’s in Texas. He was helping her out as her husband had just had an operation. Now that he’s back, and it’s not all on my shoulders…I have more energy and will get back to regular posting. Thanks for your kind comment earlier on my blog.
So glad to see you LuAnn – hope everything is ok – you’ve been missed! 🙂
How adorable!!! What a fun cat.
Thanks for hosting! I always wonder what Tsunami will be up to each week. 🙂 I shared some photos from planting our seeds. One of our cats was up on the table wanting to help. 🙂
Legend is always present whenever I want to bake – he comes running (to the table) whenever I open my cupboard doors!
Cute. Wordless and priceless.
I do love to watch kittens play!
Happy WW!
🙂
Traci
She’s lovely 🙂
So cute!
My cats kinda freak me out when they stalk things that are not there (or that I just can’t see)…
Aloha! Mrs. Marine
& the Tiny Troops
Nice to see you here today – Aloha!
I am 10 years old and I still stalk imaginary things!
Once again it’s the kitty with the great fur! Love it.
What a cute picture – there’s a real “hunter”-look in Tsunami’s eyes!
Cats are hilarious! Our kitty we had years ago would keep us entertained stalking something unbeknownst to us and she absolutely loved paper bags. The curiosity of cat is fun to watch.
Thanks for hosting another week of #WW fun!
Thanks Cathy – yes, I’ve enjoyed many past years of entertainment watching cats and paper bags – not so much any more in these days of green environment!
