Book Events – April 2013 Read-A-Thons

Its Monday - What Are You Reading

Is there a book you’ve wanted to read for quite some time? Is your TBR pile starting to grow unmanageable? If so, this is your week to catch up as the blogosphere is bursting with Read-A-Thons!

Here are the events I’m participating in this week, and the books I anticipate reading and reviewing. Which events will you be participating in and which of these books interests you the most?

Random Read-A-Thon – #WWReadathon

Spring Into Horror Read-A-Thon – #SpringHorrorRAT
Monday thru Sunday, April 22-28, 2013
One of Four Seasonal Read-A-Thons Hosted at Seasons Of Reading

Spring Into Horror April 2013

Don’t let the word “horror” scare you off! The hostesses assure me that you only have to read one scary book during this read-a-thon – but they define the word “scary” loosely, allowing you to include horror, paranormal, thrillers, mysteries and the like in the mix! Once you read your “scary” book, you can read whatever else you like (any genre)!

Book Selections

I’ll be focusing on a book that delves into the “mysteries” of one family’s past for my required read.

This is so exciting! I’ve never even heard of the read-a-thon before, but I love a good book recommendation.

I was so excited when i first heard about them too!
I hope you can join – as you can see there are events geared for everyone’s time schedule and reading tastes –
and there are more to come – so if you can’t make these, stay tuned for future events –
and be sure to cheer us on!

(And yes, it is always fun to see what everyone is reading!) 🙂

Good luck with your read-a-thon week! As you know, I am doing all of these also! I didn’t do as well this weekend, we were unexpectedly out of town but hopefully things settle down so I can get some good reading done this week with Michelles read-a-thon

    says:

I love having all of the bookish events in one place! You & Tanya @ Mom’s Small Victories help to keep me up to date! 🙂

I really love to read but I don’t always make the time for it unfortunately. There just aren’t enough hours in the day (or enough energy in my tired eyes!)

    Thanks for linking up!

That’s the nice thing about some of these events. The shorter ones encourage those who only have short periods of time to pop in when they can.
When you’re ready, that might be a perfect place to start (or, you can always stop by and cheer us on!)

      Have a fab week Sarah!

I’m fairly new to blogging and have never heard of these read-a-thon events – I’ll have to check them out! Any excuse to read for me 🙂

Dana, I hope you have the chance to participate – these read-a-thons are fantastic!
This is my first year of doing them and I am totally hooked!
I have read more, met some wonderful bloggers and connected with some awesome communities as a result.

If you are on Twitter, there are often chats and parties associated with them as well.
Some events have prizes, challenges, and games – which can add to the fun.

I’ll be sharing more in the future so if you can’t make these – the next one is just around the corner!

  15. I wasn’t going to participate in Dewey’s Readathon since the weather is supposed to be nice and I really need to do yard work. The closer the readathon gets, the more I think I may change my mind and participate! I hate missing out on the fun! Good luck to you!
