Limitless – Devotions For A Ridiculously Good Life
What would your life look like if you truly believed “with God, all things are possible?”
Would your life be radically different if you had the faith of a mustard seed?
I think that if we all truly lived with those convictions, our lives might look a lot like Nick Vujicic’s.
Nick Vujicic was born in Australia in 1982 without hands or feet – a shock to both his parents and his doctors, since nothing out of the ordinary showed up on any of his sonograms.
As you might imagine, growing up was not easy for Nick. To say he battled loneliness and depression would be an understatement. At one point, Nick says he questioned his purpose for being and the value of his own life.
But somewhere along the line – something inside of Nick changed. Nick developed a personal relationship with God. Nick’s faith grew and as it did – his entire life transformed!
Today Nick – a man with no arms and no legs – a man who, by the world’s standards, would have no prospects – is on fire for and being used mightily by God! Nick is the living personification of the verse “when you are weak, then I am strong.” With every breath, Nick credits God for being his “all in all”.
Among other things, Nick is a husband, an international and New York Times best-selling author, an evangelist, a motivational speaker and the president of Life Without Limbs – an international non-profit ministry he established in 2005.
Nick has discovered the keys to living a limitless life and in his latest book, Limitless – Devotions for a Ridiculously Good Life, Nick Vujicic shares his philosophy with us! This devotional contains 50 inspirational vignettes drawn from Nick’s two previous books, Life Without Limbs and Unstoppable. What can I tell you about this book? I think Nick’s story – Nick’s outlook on life – Nick’s perspective in limitations – and Nick’s book are simply amazing.
When a man like Nick speaks, you listen. When a man like Nick writes, you inhale every piece of advice he has to offer. When a man who has overcome more adversity than most of us can imagine and more physical limitations that most of us will ever bear finds a way to look past himself and to impact the world for eternity – the word hero takes on new meaning.
Any time you are having a bad day – any time you are feeling sorry for yourself – any time you need a pick-me-up, a word of encouragement, a kick in the seat of your pants – pick up this book! The inspiration that Nick provides in this devotional can change your life.
Here is a sample of the encouragement you’ll find in this book:
From Devotional 10 – Prepare For The Best
How do you stay hopeful in such situations? You trust in God, remember that you are here for a reason, and dedicate yourself to fulfilling that purpose. Whatever challenge you are facing, you are blessed in ways that will help you find a way through it. Just think of my parents and the hopelessness they once faced.
Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.” I know for certain that as long as you draw breath, hope is available to you. You and I are only human. We cannot see into the future. Instead, we picture the possibilities for what might be. Only God knows how our lives will unfold. Hope is His gift to us, a window to look through.
I plan on keeping Limitless for a long time to come – and once you read it, I’m sure you will too!
