Rosemary Cottage – Book Review
On the surface, Hope Beach – a beautiful setting along the Outer Banks of North Carolina – seems like the perfect vacation destination and Rosemary Cottage – the place where Amy Lang and her brother Ben spent many idyllic summers – sounds like the perfect place for a family reunion. But, this summer, Amy has not returned to Rosemary Cottage to reunite with Ben. Instead, Amy has returned to Rosemary Cottage to mourn Ben’s loss – and to determine if his death at sea was really an accident. She does not believe that her brother drowned, and until she can put her suspicions to rest, Amy does not plan to leave Hope Beach.
Curtis Ireland – a local Coast Guard – also lost his sister, Gina, in a swimming accident, and is now raising his niece, Raine. When Amy and Curtis meet, and discover the similar circumstances in their pasts, they are drawn together and begin to explore the possibility that what happened to their siblings was not accidental at all.
But – Amy and Curtis soon learn that when you go delving into peoples’ pasts – even those you think you know really well – you often discover things that make you wonder if you really knew those people at all.
They also learn that the very things that draw people together also have the potential to tear them apart.
Rosemary Cottage is a wonderful story that Colleen Coble masterfully weaves together. Colleen’s characters draw you into the thick of the plot, which is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end of the book!
Rosemary Cottage is the first book I’ve read by Colleen Coble – but it won’t be my last! This book deserves a place on your summer reading list!
