WOYWW – Guarding The Books

Legend - Guarding The Books

Happy WOYWW, dear friends! Today’s column will be short and sweet as I spent the day at the endodontist and am still feeling groggy in the aftermath of the “special cocktail” they gave me to keep me in the seat and off of the ceiling!

This week I am participating in the High Summer Read-A-Thon. So is Legend. I snapped a shot of him guarding his books. You’ll have to stop by the read-a-thon event to see what I’m reading!

I’m also hosting a fabulous Café Press Giveaway that’s open worldwide. Be sure to stop by and enter – I enjoyed shopping for a few goodies and I’m sure you will too!

If you missed out on my Craft Room Tour last week, be sure to stop by. I look forward to some more project and product shares in the weeks to come!

Have a fabulous week!

It’s going to be pretty hard for Legend to read his books while sitting on them. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. Heather L says:

Well that’s MUCH better than devouring them, as a friend’s cat tried to do with one of mine this week. I haven’t yet seen it, but hear it looks pretty bad. 🙁

Love your pictures of Legend! Isn’t he regal! patsy

  5. The photo Guarding The Books looks good, but, what’s the most important, it shames me – urges on reading more. So I thank you for that wonderful reminder. Your photo – the blog- helps in changing of the attitude towards life.

  7. I too need to be hopped up to put my butt in the dentist chair. Bet you had a nice nap. Your cats are so pretty. My oldest child is allergic, so no cats for us. I checked out the reading challenge. I started following you so I won’t miss out on future stuff. I love to read, I can finish a really good book in 2 days. Good luck with your challenge this week. Thanks Kim! I came home and crashed all day yesterday so I am now just catching up (and still trying to get the residual drugs out of my system – I am SO sensitive to meds – except when I’m at the doctor’s/dentist!)

Delighted you’re following – I frequently post upcoming events here, so hope you’ll be able to participate and we can share our favorite books!

  8. Mary-andering Creatively says:

Hi, I love a cat that loves books. I have one too. As usual, thanks for the hop opportunity.

  9. Julia Dunnit says:

A readathon. Good grief, haven’t you enough to do. Mind you – you probably read sensibly – I pick up a book and then do nothing else until it’s finished. Crazy.

  10. Ria Gall says:

I love how your cat is guarding your books , my little dog loves coming in to my craft room she likes following the sun spots on the carpet around the room.
Sending a hug for WOYWW and I hope you have a great week

  15. great photo.
Hope you recover quickly from the drug cocktail

  16. Christine says:

How do you train Legend to do that or is it him doing his own thing? My cat just believes in leaving the bed covered in hair – when she’s not eating of course!!
Good luck with the book reading, I have just finished ‘A Cat Called Bob’, not heavy but interesting and am about to start the follow up book.

      Hi Christine,

All photos of Legend (and Tsunami) reflect them at home, just doing their own thing – they aren’t trained to do any special tricks –
on the other hand, they have managed to train all of the humans who surround them pretty darn good!

It’s natural that Legend should claim a stack of books as his own – after all, he pretty much believes that everything that comes into our home is meant for him and his pleasure alone! 🙂

Have a great week, Christine, and if you review your books, be sure to share them with us at Inspire Me Monday or Friendship Friday!

  17. Danie May says:

My male cat Felix is an avid reader also, he especially loves the newspaper….lol. Your legend is just gorgeous and I am sure you will never lose a book as long as he is on guard. Happy WOYWW! Danie #72

  18. Nan G says:

Legend has quite a stack there to get through. 🙂 My girls want nothing to do with a book unless I’m trying to read it. Usually one of my how to art books which they love the spiral bindings I put on the books. Enjoy your reading! Happy WOYWW! Nan G #49

  19. Legend is just sooooo gorgeous!!!
