This Week’s Theme – Change

Renee Flower

As I write today’s Friendship Friday post, it still feels like we are in the throes of summer. My city is experiencing a heat wave. I am trying to stay cool in the midst of sweltering, triple-digit temperatures. As I look out my window, I gaze upon trees that are still fully clothed in beautiful, green leaves.

And yet – instinctively – I know that change is happening all around me. I can feel it in my bones. I can sense it in the air. Internally, September starts the New Year for many of us. September brings with is a season of change.

This week’s writing prompt and discussion topic is Change. Here are some questions to get you started:

  • Do you tend to tend to embrace or resist Change in your life? Explain!
  • They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Is dealing with Change easier or more difficult as you grow older?
  • If you could change 1 thing about yourself or your life right now – what would it be?

We look forward to reading your thoughts on “Change” in the comments and in your Friendship Friday posts at this week’s Friendship Friday celebration!

Life would be boring without change. What matters is how we handle it.

  2. Change is definitely in our lives at the moment! Thanks for hosting & God bless!

  3. Theresa says:

I like to think that I do adjust to change well, but I do know that sometimes change really bothers me. My 9 year old daughter absolutely HATES change. We just got a new Zumba instructor and now doesn’t want to go back. We have to learn all new routines and this upsets her very much. My 14 year old and I are fine with it though.

I don’t think I would change anything about my life right now. I think I am at peace with everything in and around my life at the moment.

I love reading that you are happy with your life, Theresa, and wouldn’t change a thing.
That is an incredible blessing to share!

When I lived back east, Fall was my favorite season too (with Spring a close second!)
After the hot humid days of summer, I could not wait for the respite that came with Autumn!

I bet you witness an AMAZING turning of the leaves where you are!
      Enjoy the seasons to come!

  9. Vickie says:

Since I have been through the “change” of life, it seems I find it easier to try new things! One new thing I am “trying” (and trying) to do is my blog! I am learning so much, sometimes while banging my head against the wall, but learning nonetheless! I embrace change whenever I can get it – it keeps me young 😉

I think it’s so important to constantly look for new things to try and new ways to grow and I applaud you for delving into the “new” world of blogging!
I could not agree more that embracing change helps to keep us young.
Your blog is a lovely, peaceful place to visit!

  10. Lucy says:

I’ve thought about this recently, change is actually a lot easier when you are really young. I think we are designed to accept what we are taught by our parents when we are young, so it’s very easy for most of us to adapt to change. As we get older, we are past that part of our lives and tend to live out most of what we were taught at a young age. That doesn’t mean that we are done growing or that we can’t still change, but that it is just easier in that younger stage of life.

Thank you for hosting, I’m following via bloglovin and Pinterest.

Thanks for your thoughtful response Lucie! I think we do tend to get more set in our ways – often without realizing it – as we get older.
I also think that as we are aware of that tendency, we can change it!

Here’s to resiliency and here’s to change! 🙂
