If you’re private investigator Liz Talbot, you’d probably think you were seeing a ghost!

After all, Liz’s best friend Colleen – the one who now resides in the afterworld –visits Liz every now and then to help her solve a crime. And so, for a brief moment, Liz entertains the possibility that the woman on her doorstep is truly an apparition.

But, the blond bombshell standing on Liz Talbot’s doorstep is no ghost. She’s Calista McQueen – Liz’s new client, the Lowcountry Bombshell herself!

Now, Liz has seen and heard a lot of strange tales in her day. But few tales are as out there as the story that Calista McQueen – her potential new client – shares.

Calista McQueen, it appears, is the living embodiment of Marilyn Monroe – her doppelganger, if you will. She was born on the 50th anniversary of Marilyn’s birthday – down to the minute! The major events in her life bear a striking resemblance to Marilyn’s. Because their lives so closely resemble one another’s, Calista is convinced that their lives are inextricably connected. And, she is terribly frightened by the implications.

Calista is convinced that in 10 days – on the anniversary of Marilyn’s death – she will be murdered, just like Marilyn. Since Calista wants to live, she hires Liz to keep her alive.

Liz – the ever practical, albeit ghost-seeing private investigator – is somewhat skeptical of Calista’s strange tale. If anything, she thinks that the 700 million dollar Powerball jackpot she inherited from her late husband makes her a more likely target for a crime than her likeness to the late blond bombshell!

But – on the unsolicited advice of Colleen, the friendly ghost – she takes the case.

As Liz begins to investigate her client’s background – gathering information from a variety of sources such as her brother Blake, the Chief of Police and Moon Unit, the owner of the Cracked Pot – she discovers intriguing inconsistencies about Calista’s story. Before long, however, Calista’s life coach Harmony is murdered and we, like Liz, find ourselves surrounded by a cast of quirky, suspicious and unforgettable characters that will have us wondering whodunit until the very end!

Lowcountry Bombshell by Susan M. Boyer is the second book in the off-beat, oft-witty Liz Talbot Cozy Mystery Series. This book will enthrall you from beginning to end and leave you wanting for more!

This was the quirkiest book I’ve read in a long time. I loved Susan’s humor and her style. I am truly looking forward to the release of Lowcountry Boneyard and Lowcountry Bordello in 2014.

About Susan M. Boyer

Susan M. Boyer is a small-town girl with an over-active imagination and a life-long love affair with books. As a child, Susan’s teachers frequently told her mamma her talents needed to be “channeled”. One thing she’s been consistent at is making things up and writing them down her entire life.

It appears her imagination has finally paid off!

Today, Susan is an award-winning author who is the recipient of the Relief Journal Editor’s Choice Award in Fiction and who has been recognized by the Carrie McCrary Memorial Literary Awards program.
