Home To Heather Creek Series – Book Review
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Postcards From Misty Harbor Inn Series – a unique series from the Books and Inspirational Media Division of Guideposts that was written by a collaboration of best-selling authors to inspire you to celebrate God’s love in every aspect of your life.
Now, I’m excited to share that Guideposts has released another heartwarming series – the Home To Heather Creek Series – featuring a different group of best-selling authors writing under the pseudonym Kathleen Bauer, and this series is just as good!
If you like multi-generational stories that tug at your heartstrings and truly allow you to get involved in the lives of the characters, this series is for you: Guideposts is planning to release 24 books in this series!
In a nutshell, here is what the Home To Heather Creek Series is about:
When the world around you falls apart, could it be that God is giving you a second chance? This is just one of the questions on Charlotte Stevenson’s mind as she brings her three grandchildren to live on the family farm in Guidepost Books’ Home to Heather Creek Series.
Following the death of their daughter in a tragic accident, Charlotte and her husband, Bob, become guardians of the three grandchildren they hardly know. Not only is it a major adjustment for the couple nearing retirement, but also a huge shock for the orphaned children to go from life as they know it in San Diego to a small farming community in Nebraska.
Readers meet the Stevensons in Before The Dawn and follow their journeys in Sweet September.
One unique feature about this series is that each book is written by a different author!
Before The Dawn – the first book in the series – is written by Carolyne Aarsen. I really loved the warmth of Carolyne’s writing – she immediately drew me into the first book and made me care about what happened to each of the characters.
Sweet September is written by Tricia Goyer. While the books are edited for stylistic consistency, I’m sure that fans of the various authors will want to make it a point to read their favorite author’s books!
In the context of family – this story has something for everyone. There are one or more characters whose struggles, whose heartaches, whose triumphs, whose joys you will relate to.
I recommend the Back To Heather Creek Series and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
