Happy What’s On Your Workspace Wednesday, dear friends! Today I am testing a craft product called Smart-Fab for an upcoming review and giveaway. Have you heard of it or used it before? If not, Smart-Fab is a non-woven fabric that’s designed to be a cross between fabric and paper. It comes in a variety of colors and can be used for countless creative projects!
Magellan – my new Maine Coon kitten – was fascinated by the product! Every time he saw the sample rolls he came bounding into my office to play with them! I tried to take “professional” shots containing the samples only – minus the kitten – but after several attempts over the course of several days, I threw in the towel. Not even his favorite games could distract him from the lure of the Smart-Fab rolls!
You can read all about my experience with Smart-Fab in the formal review and giveaway – and, if you’re in the US, possibly win a sample package for yourself – but for now, I’d like to share the card I created using Smart-Fab. As you can see, it is transparent and textured – thin enough to use on a card – but also strong enough to use for sewing projects! It makes a very cool addition to one’s craft room and I look forward to playing with my samples!

If I was describing the texture, I would describe it as a thin and pourous type of woven fabric – much more flexible than normal fabric.
I did not have the opportunity to ink, paint, or glitter it as I would have liked to have done, but I posted a video in my review that shows all of these things being done.
The video also shows a variety of cool uses such as costume design, bulletin board designs in classrooms, stage presentations, and a variety of craft projects.
What a handsome little fellow!!! He’s absolutely adorable!!!

There will be no professional shots with a kitten in the room! LOL. I keep letting Baily, our 5 month old kitten in the Fun Room but I pretty much always have to move her out if I want to get anything done….she’s just too darn busy.

How fascinating..and as it’s thinner than I thought, presumably when not in a roll the colours aren’t quite so bright? Probably turn out to be very useable. Like the simple clean lines of your card.

I don’t think this product has hit our shops here in Scotland yet although I think I’ve seen similar fabric/paper crosses on sale. The card you’ve made using it is lovely – like the torn edges.
