Deeper Than Red – Book Review
There is nothing more delightful than finding a good espionage thriller to kick off the summer. If you enjoy high-stakes drama involving massive amounts of political intrigue and suspense, then add Deeper Than Red by Sue Duffy to your list of books to read this season!
Deeper Than Red is the final book in the Red Returning trilogy – and my one disappointment is that I did not discover the series sooner! Award-winning writer Sue Duffy grabs your attention from the first paragraph and never lets go, with her twist-laden plot and her intriguing characters, who include a concert pianist who can’t seem to escape her spy-laden past… a young girl who is trying to save her mother from the grips of a seductive and powerful cult… and madmen who will stop at nothing to achieve their diabolical agendas, which include assassinating the president of the United States and seeing the Soviet Union return to its former glory.
Although each book in the Red Returning series is written to stand alone, they are all interconnected, and if you enjoy this genre, you’d probably enjoy starting the series from the beginning and building up to the thrilling culmination that awaits you in Deeper Than Red. Otherwise – feel free to jump into the action – Deeper Than Red does not disappoint!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
