Wordless Wednesday – Bird Watching

Magellan - Bird Watching (with Reflection)

Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!

Photo Of The Week
Magellan – Bird Watching

Poem Of The Week
She sights a Bird – she chuckles –
She flattens – then she crawls –
She runs without the look of feet –
Her eyes increase to Balls –

Her Jaws stir – twitching – hungry –
Her Teeth can hardly stand –
She leaps, but Robin leaped the first –
Ah, Pussy, of the Sand,

The Hopes so juicy ripening –
You almost bathed your Tongue –
When Bliss disclosed a hundred Toes –
And fled with every one –

Wordless Wednesday – Bird Watching

One of Magellan’s favorite pastimes is bird watching.
He loves to watch them fly by and
Dream up ways to catch them.

I cannot leave him unsupervised by the windows
Because I have caught him on more than one occasion
Swinging by the blinds trying to chase after them!

Share your pet’s favorite pastimes with us in the comments
And look closely at today’s photo…

Tell Magellan catching the bird is like catching the mouse under the covers. One day he will find a way to get his reward 🙂

I’m not sure I want to encourage him in these pursuits, Suzie – I just discovered that I have to have our 2nd story screen replaced (the one in the picture) because he has virtually busted the bottom seam out!

(It is sweltering here and now every time he heads for the window, I have to shut it so he doesn’t go flying through it…)

  3. Look at those eyes! So adorable as always =) #ww

  4. Bird watching can be addictive, we’ve had a nest of barn swallows this year and it’s hard not to just stop and watch them flitter about.

Strewth. Some kind of cat torture going on with that bloke. As for Magellan; blindji jumping is extreme felining! YAM xx

Loved your video. What a smart bird. I really don’t think that cat enjoyed the bird being on his back though. Magellan really had some intent in his eyes in that first picture… hehehe Thanks for sharing once again & letting me join you in your fun bloghop. Have a wonderful day!

  16. Mary Denman says:

He is a beautiful cat! Does his fur stay like that naturally? Or do you groom him as well?

Our cat Dutchess has a favorite toy. It’s a belt to my son’s long since outgrown bathrobe. I got rid of the bathrobe, but kept the belt for our cat. She will find it in the house, then pick it up in her mouth and cry a very, very specific cry. She’ll come downstairs with it, looking for us, and then drop it for us to then play with her and the belt! She’s an intelligent cat!

    Have a great day Ramona!

    Praying for you. 🙂

      Hi Mary,

Magellan’s fur is naturally easy fairly easy to care for with regular brushing (and he is an excellent groomer) but Tsunami has a long shaggy coat that is tangles much more easily. In addition, Maine Coons have an undercoat to protect them against harsh winters (of course, my cats live in a warm climate!)

Love your story of Dutchess and her belt! Magellan loves interactive toys and has a long stick toy with a mouse he loves to drag around. Sometimes I wake up with it in bed with me because he wants to play!

  17. It looks as if that bird is very lucky to be on the other side of that window!

  18. piranha Banana says:

What a beauty! A beautiful reminder of our old cat Hobie…

Hobie loved to bird and squirrel watch through the window and would ‘mirr’ whenever he saw them.

Unbelievably gorgeous photo of Magellan, especially with his reflection looking back at himself. His floofy fur is exquisite. Loved the Dickinson poem as well. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

I love your photos & I think that I’ll do some WW ones of my little cat.
Wishing you a happy Wordless Wednesday 🙂

  22. Emilie says:

Ah, kitty TV. Ours love open window season.

  23. DM Yates says:

Way too cute, both the pics and the video.

  24. Michelle says:

Our littlest cat’s favorite pastime is to clean, or bat at, the older cats.
One of the older cats dislikes this, but the other will poke back in fun.
It’s great exercise because the older cats are about 13yrs old.
