This Week’s Theme is Caribbean Music!
My song choice for this week is Bob Marley’s Redemption Song – a song considered one of Marley’s greatest works. Unlike most of his previous recordings, Redemption Song is purely an acoustic work, and it is one of his final songs, written around the time of the cancer diagnosis that took his life.
Redemption Song is considered the most influential recording in Jamaican music history – on of the Top Political Songs of all times – and is #66 on Rolling Stone’s 2004 list of 500 Greatest Songs Of All Times.

In 2013, Jamaican recording artist Tessanne Chin won Season 5 of The Voice, and one of the performances that helped her clinch the title was her heartfelt rendition of Marley’s classic.

I love both versions!
I thought I was going original Bob at first but the more I heard Tessanne’s version, the more it grew on me and now I am in love with it –
it just took me awhile to get used to hearing a different interpretation!
I played both songs all night while writing my post!

Wonderful choices here and I love that you have both. Me? I love them both… I’m so late… I’m very sorry, but I was very busy yesterday and then I just got too tired. Sometimes it gets the better of me and the pain just overruns me and I have to rest without a choice. I get injections next week and I can hardly wait. Pain free until maybe 8 to 10 months woo hoo.. need prayers that all goes well if you don’t mind. I go on the 11th. Thank you. God bless and have a great night.
