Fulfilled – Learning To Live The Life God Promised – Book Review

Fulfilled

Fulfilled by Danise Jurado – Book Review

As we go through life, there are times when we each experience a deep hunger inside – an emotional yearning, a spiritual emptiness, an intense desire for something more in life than we already have, no matter who we are or how fabulous our lives may be.

In our attempt to satisfy these longings, we often look for fulfillment in all of the wrong places – to things that can never satisfy, to idols who make empty promises, to addictions that temporarily fuel us, only to eventually leave us feeling emptier and more lifeless than before.

As Danise Jurado discovered, there is only one person in the universe who can satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts and bring nourishment to our souls, and that person is God.

Fulfilled - We Need God

What happens when we hear God calling us – when we reach out and grasp the hand that He has extended to us – but we still feel the aftermath of our previous lives nipping at our heels? What happens when the barriers between us and the abundant life that Jesus promised us seem insurmountable?

That’s what Danise’s new book, Fulfilled, is all about.

Fulfilled – Learning To Live The Life God Promised identifies some of the challenges that we face as Christians once we say yes to God. Even though spiritually we become new creations in Christ when we accept Jesus as our Savior, the battle scars from our lives before Christ do not vanish overnight.

Sanctification is a process that often requires prayer, commitment, and at times, even warfare.

If you are seeking freedom and spiritual transformation in your life – Fulfilled contains the tools you need to help you on your journey.

Fulfilled - Freedom Thru Forgiveness

According to Danise, the journey begins with Forgiveness – and the process is intense. Your homework for this chapter is to forgive and bless those who have sinned against you. Now, if you have ever sat down and made a list of people who have truly hurt you, you know how difficult forgiving some of them can be, let alone blessing them!

Forgiveness doesn’t mean non-nonchalantly saying “I forgive you” and moving on. Many times, it means facing deep-rooted hurts from your past that take a lot of time to work through and supernatural healing on the part of God.

Often, forgiveness begins by letting God know that you are willing to forgive but you need His help to do so.

Next comes Restoration. Of this process, Danise writes:

It’s difficult to feel complete when your life is filled with broken pieces. God mends the shattered fragments through the beautiful and painful process of restoration.

These are samples of the 12 tools that Danise shares that will help you live life as the Fulfilled person God created you to be.

You’ll learn a lot about Danise and her spiritual journey as you read Fulfilled as she is not afraid of being transparent and vulnerable throughout the book.

The thing I like most about Fulfilled is that it’s not just a book that you read – it’s a book that you live.

Danise’s book, Fulfilled, is a wonderful ministry tool that can help you to transform your life. It’s also a great book to share with your friends, your book clubs, and your Bible studies groups!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

You find the best books, Ramona (or they find their way to you)! I tweeted my excitement to read this title! https://twitter.com/KentuckyGal/status/638578667216576513

And you are SO RIGHT about forgiveness. Several years before our daughter was born, my MIL tried to get custody of our two sons (based on some stunningly bad advice she received). Once everything was settled and the misunderstanding was cleared up, she had her husband came to town for the holidays. She asked me one night if I hated her and her husband for what had transpired. I said no, because while I did not agree with her actions, I understood that she had been misled. When I tried to explain what had been happening to my oldest (then 4 YOA) he said he hated his Grammy. I explained why she had done what she did and helped resolve that situation, ensuring him that she had one it because: 1) she loved him and his little brother and 2) she thought she was protecting them.

Thanks so much LuAnn for stopping by and for sharing your excitement about Fulfilled with your readers – I know that you will enjoy this book!

Thank you also for sharing your story with us. We each face so many situations in our lives where we have to CHOOSE forgiveness (even if we require God’s help to work through the process) or bitterness will literally eat us alive.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Fulfilled once you have a chance to read it! 🙂

I went through discipleship program here at the Dream Center and have been under Danise for about a year. I can testify that Danise is the real deal and this book reflects that kind of person who has impacted my life since we crossed paths. I can’t thank her enough for the way she has helped me and countless others. This book really translates into the way she has impacted this once helpless drunk and has showed the love of Christ and has helped me to be fulfilled even through my spiritual struggles.
