Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
Quote Of The Week
Unlike us, cats never outgrow their delight in cat capacities,
Nor do they settle finally for limitations.
Cats, I think, live out their lives fulfilling their expectations.
Irving Townsend
What Does Your Magella See?
Have you ever been going about your business, thinking everything was right in the world, when suddenly, your cat goes on alert?
Have you ever watched your cat’s body stiffen – his eyes widen – his head snap to attention – his ears perch high – and his nostrils flare as he does a spot check of his environment?
Have you marveled at how quickly your cat identifies the source of the disturbance and goes to the scene to investigate?
Have you been impressed by your cat’s agility and prowess as he leaps and climbs to great heights to gain the greatest vantage point?
Has your cat ever protected you and your family by alerting you to a potentially dangerous situation?
Cats are amazing animals! Today I invite you to celebrate the marvel that is your cat!

I don’t know what he sees but he is very nosey… awww! LOL
Have a tanfastic week 🙂
He is such a good watch cat – nothing gets by him!
We are pet free – we travel it’s not really fair to an animal to have us as parents.
Yes, it does make it more challenging to have pets when you’re always on the move!
Unless you have a pet that’s your travelling companion, I tend to agree with you!
That is a clever cat! Of course he’s spying on the dogs walking by…or the birds …or the squirrels 🙂
And the people! You should see him when a stranger comes into his turf. He goes on all kinds of high alert – he does not like ANYONE coming into his kingdom who does not have the official seal of approval!
I think he’s scoping out the lady cats strolling by!
Thankfully, we don’t get too many lady cats roaming the neighborhood – every now and then I catch a neighboring cat in a window, but my neighborhood is ruled by dogs! (Except, of course, that which is ruled by my cats!)
Our darling little cat was attacked last night. Came in bleeding and limping and then had a fit. We are assuming another animal. He seems ok now but unusually for him has stuck fairly close to us and home all day.
Oh my – I hope he is okay! That is terrible! Has he been neutered?
That might help keep him closer to home!
Yes neutered. It’s the cat that adopted us and his previous owner let him roam the streets. We are about to try and convert him to being a house cat. I’m pretty sure though, given his age (8) that it might be too late?
I think that’s a GREAT idea Raychael – he will be SO much safer as a house cat! I encourage you to give it a try. I’d hate for you to go through the heartbreak of losing your precious cat!
There is not a day that goes by that our cats dont entertain us in some way!!
Isn’t that the truth!
Cats indeed are amazing, our cat, Koko, always goes on high alert when there is an animal in our yard, whether it’s a deer, the neighbor’s dog or just a squirrel, he’s the first to notice. Thanks for the party!
Sounds like Koko rules his territory just like Magellan!
Have an awesome day Joy!
aww such a cutie, has to be involved in everything! lol Thank you for sharing with OMHG Wordless Wednesday Link Party.. Have a great day, co-host Evija @Fromevijawithlove x
Thanks Evija – have a wonderful week!
Its really nice to have pets! They have extra senses that we humans lack!
Yes – and super-heightened senses of the ones we share!
Cats are almost the perfect hunting machine as someone told me. They are the most alert animals on Earth.
So true! Not a lot gets by them!
Aww this is too cute!!
So sweet 🙂
Thanks for hosting ..
My pleasure Claire – thanks for joining us this week!
My cat does that all the time. She loves to watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks outside. Thanks for hosting. Have a great week!
You too Cascia – hope your week rocks!
That’s such a fab photo. Looks like he’s spying. 🙂
Oh, he is totally the neighborhood Mrs Kravitz!
A bird, a plane?
I don’t know, but if Superman appears – he might get pre-empted in next week’s post!
Gweat foto. Weez enjoy most everyfin’, ‘cept maybe da VET. MOL And mommy enjoys us.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Lexi
Yes, no pet likes to visit the vet (except perhaps when they are very, very ill and they sense that they are the people to make them feel better!)
What did he see, curious cat?! Thank you for hosting! Have a wonderful rest of the week!
You too Ashleigh! Hope to see you for Friendship Friday!
That is such a cute shot. Nosey little thing isn’t he.
Magellan is hands down the nosiest cat we have ever lived with – he literally sticks his nose into everything!
The answer is EVERYTHING. Magellan sees everything — just like every kitty. 🙂
Great answer K! 🙂
Simba will get on alert, but he doesn’t care much any more. I suppose if he saw something more than a bug, he might be intrigued. lol I love that you have a watch cat.
Ah, I know what you mean too – as they age their priorities change. The little things aren’t as big a deal to Tsunami as they once were either!
They don’t do anything special. They just make me happy as I know they love me and they know I love them. Hugs, Janet p.s. Super cute photo of Magellan
Glad you enjoyed this week’s photo of Magellan, Janet and great answer – just their “Being” gives us pet lovers great joy!
HE IS just tooooooooo cute! And some of the pics you catch like this one is priceless! Thanks for sharing. Got to get some shut-eye! HUGS
Sweet dreams precious one!
My cat goes on alert whenever a hears a noise outside. He’s always checking out the neighborhood! He’s the first one to notice any strange sound or movement – he’s kind of a watch cat 🙂
Isn’t it great having a watch cat in your home? If you’ve never lived with a cat, it can be hard to imagine just how much awareness they bring into your lives!
Such an inquisitive cat. )
That he is!
Sometimes I’m afraid to know what they see.
I’ve had those moments too!
I love his face! I often wonder what my cats are seeing when they gaze out the window into the distance.
I often peek and try to figure it out! I am only successful some of the time!
A little birdie told me Magellan is bird watching…
WOOF

You know which birds are most fascinated by Magellan? The hummingbirds in our neighborhood!
Every now and then a hummingbird will come right up to the window and hover directly in front of him as in wonder as to what marvel appears on the other side of the screen! Magellan is so transfixed that he doesn’t even think to hunt it and I am so in wonder of the sight that I never have time to grab the camera before the hummingbird slips away!
Every time I see your cats, I get a desire to adopt one. My cats were tragically killed by a bob cat. It’s been difficult to think of replacing them. Maybe, it’s time. Your cats are so gorgeous and curious.
Isadora
Wow, Isadora – I am so sad to hear that you lost your cats in such a tragic way!
Although we can never replace the cats that we love, it would be wonderful if you could open your heart to another cat (or two!)
I know that your beloved cats would want to see you happy.
He looks very inquisitive. I wonder what he’s looking at 🙂
I love his inquisitiveness by day. When I am trying to sleep and he is making a racket with the blinds – not so much!
We amaze the Dad every single Day
I can certainly believe that Timmy – you just have that aura about you!
I love your cat pics. They make me smile. thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mary! They bring great joy into everyone’s lives!
You tell a true tale.
Meowrrrr,
Shadow
I hope that Magellan is seeing something really fun! Perhaps it is a squirrel bouncing around the yard. Those are always fun. 🙂
Reminds me of my next door neighbour!
I am falling in love with Magellan. My cat is very protective. She likes to check out her surroundings. She acts like a cat in one of the cozies. I think of KoKo and the other cat in “The Cat Who….” series. She’s fun.
Glad you love Magellan and are owned by a protective cat as well!
Happy Sunday #selfie
Annabelle,Boo,Ping & Mr Jinx
Lovely photo! And yes, cats are amazing 🙂
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
My cat was always kind of wary & defensive, I think because she came from the streets of Harlem, NY city, where she lived the first 9 weeks of her life.
Love & biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Themselves
I don’t know, I think Megallan takes a closer look 😀 I’m not a protectic cat, but I think Granny is 🙂 Pawkisses 🙂 <3
our cat Cashew stares under neath the stove all the time and I always wonder if he knows a scrap of food fell under there, and one day it will magically float back out. ha
But when he is in the window like this, it’s almost always squirrels to blame.
What a great photo of Magellan, he’s so beautiful. My cat Maggie was good at keeping pesk moles & mice away, and also she was a great cuddler.
Love & biscuits,
