Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
Quote Of The Week
I hate housework.
You make the beds,
You wash the dishes and
Six months later you have to start all over again.
Joan Rivers
Surprise In The Pantry
Once or twice a year, I find the urge to pull everything out of my pantry and to go through each item, piece by piece, to determine what’s fresh and what’s not – what’s healthy and what’s not – and what is taking up much needed space in the hopes of making my kitchen a more organized, more efficient, healthier place to cook.
As anyone who goes through this exercise can tell you, there are always surprises lurking in your pantry!
So, who can spot the item on the shelf that really does not belong in one’s kitchen pantry?
I’ll give you a hint: there is not a mouse in my house!
Happy Wordless Wednesday to you!

Luxie can’t wait to help you explore – I mean clean! 🙂
Peekaboo, I see you. Such a cutie.
Ahhh, this is so cute. Reminds me of the many times my neighbor’s cats got into my car without me noticing. One time I had to drove back home to return the hidden kitty.

That’s the best out-of-place item in the pantry to find! Such a gorgeous kitty.
I think you still need to check the expiration dates on some of that! My human cleans out the pantry when her boyfriend is out of town – and he invariably comes back and wonders what happened to something he was using! To which my human replies, “That was expired! You should have thrown it out two years ago.”
My cat also likes to explore the pantry (in fact he likes to explore every room in the house). Happy New Year!
Kitty in the pantry!
Love the Joan Rivers quote. 🙂 What a lovely addition to your pantry shelf!
I love that quote and hate housework too!
LOL on the cat in the pantry – our Jazmine does that all the time too! And interesting that you are cleaning out your pantry – I read an article today on a month to month plan to declutter your house and for January, it was cleaning out the kitchen! Thanks for stopping by my blog today – I can understand why you love Kizmet!!
That is such a cute pic. Love it. Hope you had a great New Year.
my husband and I keep threatening to do that, but neither one of us has actually done it as of yet. We keep buying unique ingredients and neither one of us think to ever cook with them.
I don’t mind this little surprise :)..supeer cute indeed..
Thank you for posting yet another great linkup. I actually did this to my cupboard yesterday but I didn’t even think about it. Funny You’re talking about it today.
A cat must to his duty and make sure the pantry is clean of all mice.
Such a cute photo! I’m sure he was just trying to help clean. My kitties like helping to clean the cupboards too. Cinco has even figured out how to open them himself, so I find him in them once in a while.
you’re super organised!
Aww, lovely picture :):)
I often find cats in my pantry too… and in the refrigerator which I am not too fond of! I’m always afraid I’m not going to see my male cat jump in and I’ll close him in there by mistake.
Glad to see you have only the best help
Awesome photo! My cats are always turning up where they don’t belong too. They are always so fun. #MMBH
Your kitty is gorgeous! I finally got two kitties and loving it. Totally different personalities. My black Burmese is naughty and crazy. He dug the tea bag out of my empty mug and was chewing on it!
We cleaned out pantry as we moved to new house, thanks for sharing this wonderful post with Hearth and soul blog hop.
I’ve been cleaning out my kitchen cupboards too but I didn’t find the surprise you did! What a sweet kitty! Thank you for being a part of our Hearth and Soul Hop community. Hope to see you again next week.
We do that clearing and boy OOOH boy does mum find some old stuff MOL!!!
