Bearing Witness – Stories Of Martyrdom And Costly Discipleship – Book Review

Bearing Witness from Plough Publishing House is part of The Bearing Witness Stories Project – a collaborative project where members of the Anabaptist community worldwide are invited to collect and share stories of martyrdom in the hopes of inspiring greater faithfulness to Jesus Christ and to strengthen church unity.
There are several reasons why this book is important and why you should consider reading it – even if it falls outside of your preferred genre.
First, the Introduction to the book provides us with a great perspective on what it means to be a martyr without going into overkill.
Second, the stories provide insight into how the face of religious persecution has changed over the years and how it varies by locale.

I love reading stories about people who have such and abiding faith in our Savior that they are willing to not only give their lives to Him, but also FOR Him. I am hoping this book will help me grow in my walk with Jesus.

I read Fox’s Book of Martyrs a long time ago… I would love to read this book! Sounds like it would be very inspiring.
