Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!
The Creative Cat Coloring Book Review
Are you a creative individual who enjoys sitting down with books filled with beautiful illustrations, a set of pencils or markers and coloring to your heart’s content?
Purr-haps you love cats, art, books, and craft supplies and look for every opportunity to add to your prized collections?
Or maybe you’re an aspiring illustrator who loves to study the work of other artists to learn how they capture the beauty and majesty of their subjects through a few carefully rendered and lovingly placed pen strokes?
No matter where your interests lie, you’ll want to add the Creative Cat Coloring Book by Bernadette Kazmarski to your personal collection – and to give them as gifts to every cat lover and coloring enthusiast that you know!
The Creative Cat Coloring Book is available as an individual coloring book and as a gift set that comes with the coloring book, watercolor pencils, paintbrush and sponge. The gift set is perfect for budding artists and adults who are re-discovering their love of coloring.
There are a number of features that make the Creative Cat Coloring Book special and set it apart from every other adult coloring book on the market!
First and foremost – unlike most of the nice but overly complex adult coloring books you frequently come across – the Creative Cat Coloring Book is a work of pure simplicity that captures the beauty, heart and spirit of the felines you love.
The book features a baker’s dozen of Bernadette’s favorite brush pen sketches that easily lend themselves to either loose or tight coloring. You can color inside or outside of the lines. You can even add your own details to the sketches!
The Creative Cat Coloring Book is small – 4.25” x 5.5” inches – making it easy to fit in the palm of your hand and comfortably carry with you or place on your creative space, wherever that is. It’s the perfect size for a stocking stuffer as well!
More importantly, unlike most coloring books, the Creative Cat Coloring Book is designed with artists and crafters in mind. The spiral-bound book is printed on quality, heavy uncoated cardstock that’s designed to withstand whatever artistic medium you use or whatever embellishments you add. When you are done coloring, your artwork can easily be incorporated into a card, a journal, or any creative project that you choose.
For example, I used Colorbox Chalk Ink to lightly dust a touches of color across Mewsette Observing, one of the sketches in Bernadette’s book – selected embellishments and stamps that complemented the artwork – then created a lovely card. To see what you can do with Bernadette’s sketches, please visit my Pretty Kitty Card!
Now, I love all of these things about the Creative Cat Coloring Book – but the thing that I love most about this book is that it was created by our friend and fellow blogger Bernadette Kazmarski – an incredible writer, photographer, artist and animal lover who has dedicated her entire life to caring for, fostering, adopting, and rescuing cats.
To learn more about the Creative Cat Coloring Book, including exclusive peeks inside, artistic tips, and to order a coloring book or complete artistic set for yourself or someone special, visit Bernadette at The Creative Cat!

I love acrylic paints Karren but all of mine dried up and I have yet to replace them!
I do have chalks which I am tempted to dig out to use on these illustrations –
I almost used them for the card I’ll be sharing on my next post but then I used chalk ink instead.
Best of luck to you – I know you would enjoy working with these!
I love it because it has to do with cats! I’ll be keeping it for me and my daughter if I win!

Ah, a cat lover – yes, I’d have to get extras as gifts, because I have trouble letting this paw-some gift set out of my sights as well! Best of luck to you Michelle – you and your daughter will love it! 🙂
Oh I love the small size and simplicity of the images in this book. I love how you can get as detailed as you want or you can go freeform with the colors and both ways will look stunning. I love sitting down with a book and watercolor pencils while listening to an audiobook at the end of the day, there is nothing more soothing for me.

they facilitate your creativity in ways that traditional coloring does not!
Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your insights with us!

Dear Anne,
I am sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time after your wrist surgery.
I hope that you recover soon!
This would truly uplift your spirits and you would enjoy working with it so much –
particularly because you wouldn’t have to worry about perfectly coloring within tiny spaces.
As you can see, I just softly dabbed color on the image and it looks lovely –
I’ll be sharing my card in a bit so you can better see what you can do with Bernadette’s images! 🙂
Ramona, thank you so much for this wonderful review! I love seeing what others have to say about my little coloring book, and I’m glad you had so much fun with it–new media, making cards, it’s exactly what I had in mind for those who would use it.

Dad just brought some pencils up from his office. They have been sitting in the drawer fur years. He also just got three nice little Cats with Hats coloring books from a project he backed on KickStarter. I will make sure he does at least 2 for each of the family.

How fabulous!
I have never really stopped coloring. I have always loved it and had a coloring book or two around. I have several now (all cats, of course). I like permanent markers best as the colors are so vibrant. Looks like a lot of entries, and we probably wouldn’t win so I will just plan to buy Bernadette’s coloring book. The card you made is terrific. Thanks for being part of blog hop, especially week #104. Hugs, Janet
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Well, it only takes one entry to win, Janet, but HURRAH to you for supporting Bernadette and buying her book!
I’ve been coloring all of my life too – I remember DECADES ago when the first adult coloring books came out how thrilled I was!
So glad you liked my card! 🙂
Cool giveaway. I love the whimsy of the few pages you showed us & the idea of using it to make cards or other crafts. Id personally love this for myself but know a couple people who would enjoy it. My niece Jenna (9) or my bestie Susan. I know if she would color it though and that would give me an excuse to keep it for myself….
I can reached at wswpub2@gmail.com – thanks

Tough decisions Tina – best of luck to you!
My recommendation?
Surprise everyone you know at Christmas this year – they make purr-fect stocking stuffers! 🙂
What a wonderful book! I love to color, especially when my mind is full of work and I can’t seem to shut it down. Meditating with color helps me to get centered. And that’s the main reason I appreciate this book. It’s very zen! So many adult books are busy. I can’t see them helping me to feel calm. This will.

You make such purr-fect points Jean! I have several adult coloring books that I can’t imagine trying to color in because they seem as relaxing as putting together a 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle! I LOVE doing puzzles but not when they are over the top!
This was truly relaxing because you had one image to focus on and you could decide what you wanted to do with it and let your creative side run wild.
Best of luck to you! 🙂
