Nourishing Meals: 365 Whole Foods, Allergy-Free Recipes For Healing Your Family One Meal At A Time

Many years ago, when I first learned that the food that my family and I ate could make a huge difference in how we felt and that many of the foods that we normally ingested as part of a traditional American diet were, in fact, more harmful than healthy, it was difficult to find good, viable alternatives to replace a traditional diet.

Thankfully, we live in more enlightened times. For example, authors like Alissa Segersten and Tom Malterre are showing us how easy it can be to ditch processed foods and to make healthier choices in their latest cookbook, Nourishing Meals: 365 Whole Foods, Allergy-Free Recipes For Healing Your Family One Meal At A Time.

One of the things that distinguishes this cookbook from other books on the market is that this isn’t just a book filled with incredibly healthy recipes – it’s also a complete resource for parents who want their children to thrive in spite of the ever-increasing rates of chronic childhood diseases and disorders. The authors provide vital information on why you should consider a whole food, gluten-free diet for your family – looks at why food allergies and sensitivities are on the rise – and teaches moms how to nourish their children from pre-conception through pregnancy through each year of their life.

Of course, the highlight of Nourishing Meals is the 365 delicious, whole food-based, allergen-free recipes that the entire family will love – recipes that are free of gluten, soy, eggs, dairy and refined sugar. The dishes are designed to appeal to everyone: vegan, vegetarian, paleo, seafood, and meat-eaters alike. There are also 100 beautiful food photos featured in two inserts inside of the book and family-oriented tips you won’t find in any other cookbook.

Here are a few of the tantalizing recipes you’ll find inside of Nourishing Meals

  • Fluffy Cashew Pancakes
  • Apricot-Glazed Chicken
  • Coconut Raspberry Muffins
  • Healing Beef Bone Broth
  • Chicken Pot Pie (including a Grain-Free Crust recipe and Vegan Gluten-Free Crust recipe)

I am super-excited to add Nourishing Meals to my cookbook collection and cannot wait to explore some of these wonderful recipes with my family!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

It sounds wonderful, Ramona! I agree that we just need good guidance to steer us in the right direction and that we can still enjoy our food, even if we give up some of those things that we are so used to. Visiting today from Sitting Among Friends! God bless and happy, healthy eating!
