Wordless Wednesday – Squirrel Watching

Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!

Squirrel-Watching

Good morning friends! Another beautiful day is upon us and it’s time to make the morning rounds. It seems like we felines never sleep – our household is always under our watchful, protective eye!

Lately, our guarding efforts have centered around the kitchen window. There’s a tree right outside that leads straight up to the window – and every day we have a visitor who boldy scampers up the branches and peers inside!

That visitor – a squirrel – is so brazen! He nibbles on the leaves and branches and never offers us a bite! He runs up and down the tree in front of us when he know Mom will not let us out to play!

Do you know that Mom even paid to replace all of the screens in our home with extra secure wiring just to make sure that we couldn’t get out (and she still keeps those windows shut mighty tight so there’s no chance of us slipping through)! Sheesh – where’s the fun in that?

We are not convinced that the squirrel is not plotting on how to come inside of our home when no one is around to raid our food bowls and pantries! We are so concerned that Tsunami often spends his days sleeping on the kitchen table or chairs just to make sure that doesn’t happened! One can never be too safe when there is a wiley squirrel on the loose!

Don’t let there cute looks fool you. There are no squirrels coming inside our home while the Pet Patrol is on duty!

Squirrels are very interesting creatures. I remember when we lived in Chicago we use to watch them for long periods of time how they would go from one place to another. Do down side is if you happen to get them into your garage or attic, then that is another story, one not so funny.

You must be careful with those squirrels Magellan, but sometimes they are friendly. We talk to the local squirrels sometimes.

Those little critters have chewed enough of my house. I’ve grown to hate them; however, we haven’t had problems since we bought a new roof.

Your kitty is always purrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-fect, but I’m sorry, but we have so many squirrels around my house and they cause so much damage you would not believe. I call them rats with tails. They cost us $550 because they chewed a hole in our house and got in upstairs. grrrrrrrrrr Anyway, you need to watch those little buggers. hehehe HUGS HAVE A GREAT WEEK MY FRIEND.

Wow, Marie, that is a LOT of damage!
Do you know we actually had a HUGE rat a few doors down from us a few weeks ago, brazenly staring at me eye to eye on the wall of the fence while I was walking by? This thing was bigger than some of the cats and dogs in the neighborhood – I’m talking HUGE! He was not in the least bit scared by my presence (and I was darned if I was going to let him know that I found his presence disconcerting to say the least BUT the thing look liked the Hulk of rats! I couldn’t help but think that God forbid that my cats should ever get outside, I wouldn’t want them tangling with anything that looked like that!

  12. Squirrels are so dang cute.

Oh, we hear you guys loud and clear! The squirrels here are just like that. So sassy and brazen … Zoe and Gracie watch them very closely!

Thank you for hosting, Ramona. Hope you’re well, and that you have a great day!

Thanks Kevin – those squirrels definitely require a team of felines to watch them -they like to taunt and tease!
Hope you are well too – have a fabulous week!

  14. Debbie Williams says:

We can’t out-squirrel them here and I spend a whole lot of time looking out my kitchen window and knocking on it to chase them off – they got every single pecan and keep coming back. Yesterday once was on the waterfall at the pool eating a nut and I knocked on the back window and he jumped into my mum pot. Poor kitties. I know how tormenting they can be and BRAVE.

  15. Mimi says:

If Simba wasn’t so old, I’d send him over to take care of that brazen squirrel for you. He was so great at keep the critters away! I’m glad to hear the windows as well as the rest of the house are covered by watching cat eyes!

That squirel is cute. Our Sabrina only drink water from the tap in the sink, ends up almost as if taking a bath. I set a towel on side and she will sit on it and lick dry. Go figure, their so cute.

    Have a great day!

We have three resident squirrels that torment us all day long. They run along the window ledge and up and down the pergola outside the kitchen window. At least one of us is on guard at all times. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
