Oriental Trading – A Paper Crafter’s Paradise
When I was a little girl, I loved visiting my Grandmother. Her home was filled with many beautiful baubles and sparkly trinkets that always caught my eye. She loved to shop by mail, and when I arrived, we’d sit on the sofa and pour over the catalogs she’d collected and saved for my visit. We would pick out all of our favorite gifts and fold down the corners of the catalogs until every page in those fanciful books were dog-eared.
One of the places my Grandmother loved to shop was Oriental Trading. There catalogs were always bursting with fun and affordable crafts, party supplies, teacher supplies, toys and holiday items for every occasion!
It’s been a long time since I’ve held an Oriental Trading Catalog in my hand – those wonderful times with my Grandmother are now a cherished memory – but I recently learned that Oriental Trading is thriving online and my visit to their website yielded a huge surprise!
For those of you who are familiar with the company, you’ll be happy to hear that Oriental Trading remains an accessible place where parents and teachers can fill their homes and classrooms with fun, educational and festive supplies at a great price!
But the real surprise for me as a paper crafter was learning that Oriental Trading also carries such a wide range of Arts and Crafts supplies that mixed media artists, art and Bible journalers, card makers, planner gals and coloring book enthusiasts can find all the tools that they need to unleash their creativity!
I went on a little shopping spree to give you an idea of the types of treasures that await you this holiday season and here is what I discovered:
First, I was so thrilled to learn that Oriental Trading carries Copic Sketch Markers
– considered by many to be the highest quality marker in the world! I couldn’t resist adding this set of basic colors to my current collection! If you like to stamp, color and create cards, you’ll find Copic Sketch Markers perfect for all of your crafting needs!
Another treasure I couldn’t resist trying was the Stabilo Point 88 Pen Set – a vibrant, fine-liner pen that is perfect for writing in your art journals, Bible studies and paper planners! I love this pen’s fine 0.4mm tips, the vibrant water-based colors, and the unique hexagonal shape that keeps it from rolling away! These are just a few of the features that have made it Europe’s #1 fine liner pen!
The final goodie that I treated myself too was this collection of pretty Pastel Washi Tapes, which I picked specifically for their narrow size! For those of you who enjoy dressing up your Happy Planners, Erin Condren Planners, and other similar books, you’ll find that having a narrow tape is sometimes just what you need to decorate between the lines – and this set fills that need in a beautiful way!
The best thing I learned from my visit to Oriental Trading, however, is that it’s not just a great source for crafting supplies – it’s also a wonderful resource for creative ideas! If you’re looking for Christmas Crafts or arts and crafts ideas throughout the year, be sure to visit Oriental Trading often for inspiration that will help your creativity bloom!

I just went on a little spending spree at Oriental Trading myself… and I totally missed that they had Copic markers! I bought crafting supplies for my boys and some Christmas crafts but didn’t even think to look around for myself.
