Change The World Through Biblical Hospitality

The Simplest Way To Change The World

The Simplest Way To Change The World: Biblical Hospitality As A Way Of Life – Book Review

When you hear the word “hospitality”, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Do you think of hosting potluck dinners and grandiose parties in a picture-perfect house? Does the thought of opening up your front door and letting the world inside of your home excite you or frighten you?

No matter what your current vision of hospitality looks like, chances are high that Dustin Willis and Brandon Clements will broaden your vision in their fabulous book, The Simplest Way To Change The World: Biblical Hospitality As A Way Of Life!

The Simplest Way To Change The World challenges us to set aside our cultural notions of what it means to be a good hostess and to view hospitality from the biblical perspective: as a way for us to invite people into our homes and into our lives and share God’s love with them.

It’s a way for ordinary people like us to become actively involved in the mission of God and to let God do extraordinary things through us, like He did through the early church of Acts.

The book is divided into two sections: The Potential and The Plan, and contains a 6-Week Small Group Guide for those who would like to use this book as a Bible Study.

What I like most about The Simplest Way To Change The World is that the authors successfully identify all of the excuses, barriers and cultural norms that prevent us from being more hospitable. Through personal stories, biblical examples and practical ideas, they help us overcome our innate resistance so that we can more easily reach out to others.

The authors are also sensitive to the fact that we all lead busy lives. They suggest creative ways for us to infuse hospitality into the natural rhythm of our lives. They also show us how to reach out to people who might not be comfortable with or physically able to visit our home.

The Simplest Way To Change The World is an inspiring book that I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in ministering to others in a more personal and meaningful way.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
