Tranquility – A Prayer And Reflection Coloring Journal – Book Review

As Christians, we often hear about the benefits of having “quiet time” in our lives – time to pray, meditate, journal and spend with God – but often, when try to put that into practice, we find it hard to do.

Our minds wander. Intrusive thoughts invade. We stare at blank pages and suddenly find we have nothing to say!

That’s why I’m thrilled that Tyndale House has created a line of beautiful guided journals to help us pray, journal and color our way through our quiet times. Last year, I fell in love with Gratitude – the first book in their line of Interactive prayer journals. This Spring, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Tranquility – the next book in their series of creative Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journals!

Prayer

Tranquility is designed to provide you with a creative experience that will allow you to deepen your faith while learning to rest in the Lord. On each page of this book, you’ll find beautiful illustrations, prayers, Scriptures and spaces to color, journal and doodle upon.

Rest 2

One of the things that I love about Tranquility is that every time I open this journal, the message I need to hear most at that particular moment is waiting for me. For instance, I’ve in the midst of a situation where I’ve been praying for wisdom and consistently feeling that God is directing me in a particular way, in spite of what worldly convention might say.

Wait - R

This is the page I opened to today:

God is working… I will wait.

What blesses me most about Tranquility is that it gives me the chance to nourish my soul each day with Godly advice, spiritual wisdom, and beautiful artwork. It slows me down – gives me a place and a space to listen – and nurtures my creative spirit.

Mother’s Day, graduation, and so many other special occasions are upon us. Why not treat yourself and a loved one to a little Tranquility in the midst of their busy lives?

  6. Good morning! Wow, those pages are so pretty… I could have a ton of fun with those. I like the idea of me not having to decide. Instead, I can just open a page and its ready for me. As someone who doesn’t get a whole lot of quiet time (2 very young kiddos), this looks like it would work well for me. Thank you for sharing!

    Cheers,
    Lisa
