The Wellness Revelation by Alisa Keeton – Book Review

How would your life be different if you could lose what’s weighing you down and be free to live the life you were created for?

That’s just one of the tantalizing questions that Alisa Keeton, the founder of the Christian-based program Revelation Wellness, asks you to consider as you begin your 8-week journey through The Wellness Revelation – a new book that challenges us to approach our health, fitness and weight loss goals in a new and revolutionary way!

Alisa – a fitness instructor for more than two decades – shares how The Wellness Revelation: Lose What Weighs You Down So You Can Love God, Yourself, And Others was born from her work with clients who were able to make short-term gains by following rigorous regimens but unable to sustain their success over the long term because health is about more than what we eat and drink.

The book is structured as an 8-week program with weekly readings and activities that are designed to get us into God’s Word and shift our thoughts and focus from ourselves and our problems. How can we be of service to others? How can we be a light for the Lord? In the process, we’ll receive guidance, tips, and tools on diet and fitness so that we can develop plans that work for us, without needing to adhere to rigid diet and exercise plans.

Alisa says that The Wellness Revelation “was designed to enable you to develop fitness and nutrition plans that work for your life as you draw closer to the One who made you. As you seek God first, all the food- and fitness-related details will fall into place.”

What I like about The Wellness Revelation is that the author recognizes that God created us as body, soul and spirit, and she addresses the process of transformation on all three levels in this book. There are plenty of places in the book to journal and record our progress as we respond to Alisa’s prompted questions.

If you are looking for a health-based weight loss book that invites the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit into your transformational journey, then The Wellness Revelation is a great resource you won’t want to miss!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This title of this book makes me think of a study I did years ago called `The Weigh Down` diet.
Unfortunately, I had a hard time sticking with it. Perhaps I should try again.

I enjoyed and reviewed this book as well. In a time when so many offer unhealthy ways to lose and maintain weight, this one presented a healthy approach to our bodies and our faith.
