A Small Book About A Big Problem: Meditations On Anger, Patience And Peace
Do you find yourself growing increasingly irritated by the little things that most people are able to overlook: a baby’s cry, a ringing phone, the check-out line that’s moving a little too slowly? Are you unable to contain your frustrations to the point that they sometimes grow into uncontrollable rants and raves?
Or, perhaps you have the opposite problem. Big and small things alike annoy you, but rather than expressing your feelings, you stuff them down inside. To the outside world, you’re a bastion of calm, but inside, your blood pressure’s rising, your veins are about to burst, and you’re a heart attack waiting to happen!
Regardless of which side of the anger scale you err on, Edward T. Welch is ready to help you. He’s written an extremely helpful book that comes in a surprisingly tiny package. His new book, A Small Book About A Big Problem: Meditations On Anger, Patience, And Peace, fits comfortably in the palm of my hand!
Don’t judge this book by its tiny, plain orange cover though. Inside, you’ll find 50 meditations that help you tackle a potentially triggering subject in manageable, bite-size chunks!
Now, I’ll confess: anger is not my favorite topic to talk about or read about. I grew up in a somewhat volatile environment so I was hesitant to pick up this book, but really glad I did! I found reading about anger in the format of daily meditations really helpful. By presenting the information in bite-size chunks, I was able to digest the information without feeling overwhelmed by it.
A Small Book About A Big Problem approaches anger from a biblical perspective and contains a lot of good food for thought.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars!
