2018 One Word Blog Hop

2018 One Word Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2018 One Word Blog Hop!

Welcome to the 2018 One Word Blog Hop at Create With Joy! The purpose of this event is to build a community where we can motivate and encourage one another to accomplish amazing things by identifying and sharing the “One Word” that will inspire each of us throughout the upcoming year!

Who do you want to be this year? What types of qualities do you want to cultivate in your life? What area of personal, professional, or spiritual growth do you want to focus on in the months to come? As you think about these questions, start jotting down the words that come to mind. Focusing on what’s most important to you in this season of your life and summarizing it in a word that can guide you through the year is what picking your One Word for the year is all about!

The One Word Blog Hop is open during the entire month of January so if you are still in the process of identifying the One Word that will focus and guide you through 2018, just share your post when you’ve completed the process!

Be sure to visit one another throughout the month – connect with and encourage one another – and draw inspiration from each other. Please share this party with your friends as well!

If you are more of a traditionalist, you are also invited to share your New Year’s goals and resolutions and to post updates and progress reports throughout the month. It takes at least 21 days to form a new habit – use this time to build the momentum you need to accomplish your goals in the months to come!

What’s Your One Word For 2018?

2018 - Listen

For the past few years, I’ve been participating in the One Word movement, and I’ve found that picking the right word to guide you through your year can make a tremendous difference in your life!

In the past, when I made a mile-high long list of New Year’s Resolutions, I often couldn’t remember what was on the list without looking at it, let along wrap my head around any of my well-intentioned but lofty goals! Choosing One Word has helped me to focus my time and energy on something more meaningful that I can track my growth.

This year, I have chosen the word LISTEN as my word for 2018. Specifically, I want to LISTEN for God and how He is speaking to me in each moment of my day. I want to LISTEN to God so that I know how He is directing my paths. And – since LISTENING in the biblical sense involves not just the physical act of “hearing”, but also the confirmative act of “putting your faith into action” by obeying, acting upon, and following God when He speaks, I want to stand poised and positioned so that I can follow Him wherever He leads.

Thanks for inviting me to join your One Word hop! I’m not usually one to create a word to follow, nor do I make resolutions, but I need peace in my life in so many areas, I chose that one this year. I love, love, love your word! It holds so much for this coming year. It’s a word I absolutely need in my life as well, so that might have to be my secondary word for the year!

  15. Listen sounds like a great word for the year! Thanks so much for the link-up – I can’t wait to see what others have chosen.

Fantastic choice for 2018! I need to work on my listening skills as well, and not just in terms of what God wants for my life. Do you have any strategy behind developing your “listening” skills? How will you know if you are successful? I’d love to hear more about your one-word challenge. And, of course, I wish you all the best of luck. 🙂
