The Air I Breathe by Louie Giglio – Book Review
What do you worship in your life?
If you are a person of faith, you probably answered God – but whether or not you believe in God, whether or not you go to church, whether or not you even consider yourself a worshiper, Louie Giglio, the founder of the Passion Movement, says we all worship something. In fact, all we have to do is walk into a concert or a sports arena to see examples of multitudes of people who are engaged in passionate worship that is not directed towards God.
We worship whether we realize it or not because we were created to worship – but only God is worthy of our worship. In his book The Air I Breathe: Worship As A Way Of Life, Giglio explores the principles and practice of worship, including why it matters, how to make worship a way of life, and how to develop a personal path to worship. The book is easy to read and contains questions at the end that can be used for personal reflection or small group study.
Reading The Air I Breathe and exploring the role and practice of worship in one’s life is important because too often, we relegate worship to the singing of a few songs during a Sunday morning service, without realizing that worship is an intentional act of praise and service that we lovingly offer God with all of our heart, mind and soul.
This book encourages us with a pathway to deepen our relationship with God and to open our hearts to Him through worship.
