Welcome back to Friendship Friday – hope you had a fabulous 4th! Even though we’re a few days into the month, we wanted to officially ring in the start of a new month with you!
July is here and heat waves are once again sweeping the nation. We are in the midst of a triple digit sweep (111 degrees, maybe more? Yuck!)
How do you stay cool when the temperatures soar? Do you lounge by the pool – lounge on your air-conditioned couch – or plan your summer vacation for that Alaska cruise you’ve always dreamed of?

Our AC went out on Saturday morning. Then we had 6 days of 100+ temps. Thankfully, the next few days are not supposed to get to 100. Thank God for the friends He has placed in our life. We were supplied with two window units by one friend and a portable unit from another friend. Other friends offered their homes to us and invited us over for dinner and board games while our house cooled down. Since then, we have been keeping the other rooms closed off, the lights off, and haven’t been using the oven much. We’ve mainly been using the grill outside to keep from running the oven and drinking lots of ice water. 🙂

I like your Hello July graphic it’s so pretty! I’ve been staying cool by sitting in air conditioned places with cold drinks – the humidity is just too much. In our area the week long heat wave is expected to break tomorrow – YAY!!

When temperatures soar as they have been for the past week in the 90’s, I drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, eat lots of popsicles, and take cool showers. Cool showers are amazing for lowering the body temperature.

Cool showers are a great hot weather tip Betty – we hit 118 degrees a few days ago (which made our cool showers feel somewhat lukewarm!)
