Courage Dear Heart by Rebecca R. Reynolds – Book Review
Are you feeling depressed, weary, and down-trodden from the daily burdens of life? If so, you’re not alone. No matter how we look on the outside, many of our hearts ache from hidden cares and sorrows that often, we carry alone. As Rebecca K. Reynold so aptly says:
The word is broken,
I am broken,
And my need is dire.
To address this need, Rebecca has written a beautiful book entitled Courage, Dear Heart: Letters To A Weary World to accompany you through the seasons in life when your heart aches so deeply, you don’t even have the words to express it.
If life feels like a struggle – if you feel like you are drowning and could use a lifeline – I encourage you to pick up this book!
Courage, Dear Heart contains a series of letters that Rebecca writes to breathe truth into the hearts and souls of the lonely, the weary, the restless, and the fearful. Rebecca’s goal in writing these letters is to offer us, her readers, three gifts:
- An accurate description of suffering that can enable us to find the healing we need.
- The presence of a friend who won’t freak out about the magnitude of your exhaustion.
- Biblical hope to refresh our vision in the midst of a difficult journey.
Eloquently written – authentically delivered – Rebecca is an author I related to and Courage, Dear Heart is a book I found myself wanting to pour over, linger over, and return to time and time again.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
