Christina’s Name ATC

Today’s project was created for a very special lady – blog follower Christina. I’d been planning on designing a house-shaped ATC for Christina for quite some time, so I was very excited when December rolled around and I finally had a chance to sit down and work on Christina’s ATC!

I knew I wanted her ATC to have a different look and feel than House of Dreams, House of Hope and House of Treasure, so instead of incorporating an image of a vintage photograph into the design, I used one of my favorite stamps – from Stampin Up’s Friendship’s Journey set – as the focal point for the card.

I originally planned to add lace to the card, but after experimenting with piece after piece, ended up digging through my ribbon stash and selecting the pieces you see here. I especially love the glittery silver ric rac, which I then embellished with that cool piece of bling that crowns the peak of the house – I felt like I was dressing her house for the holidays! To complete the card, I added 3 types of stickles, flowers, a rhinestone, and, of course, her name!

Christina, I hope you like your ATC, and will think of it as the house that love built!

Thanks Georgia! I really love making these house-shaped ATCs! Friendship's Journey is retired but is still one of my favorite stamps (I love vintage and collage images!)

"The house that love built" – that phrase stuck with me from a song from a movie – came to mind when I was working on the card, seemed appropriate to share! 🙂

Your house created for Christina is definitely a favorite of mine. Today is the first day I went into gmail to see if I could post in the right place. Next to the comment as: Select profile sort of threw me off as I looked over options given etc. If I picked the right one and its approved you should see two comments, One for the post card and one for the house.
